What are some good bocks and doppelbocks available in my area? What are your favorites? I've only tried the maple bock by hinterland and enjoyed it. Would like to explore those styles further.

    Thanks

Ahnapee Brewing up in Algoma has some nice BA versions of their dopplebocks. You can find bottles in the GB area.

If you haven't had Capital's Autumnal Fire and it's still around, check that out. Their Blonde Dopplebock comes out in February/March and is good too.

Bell's Consecrator Dopplebock should come out on Fat Tuesday or about that time. Haven't had it personally but, from what I've read its a tasty brew and am looking forward to its release. Im pretty positive Bells distributes in Wisconsin.

Look for Celebrator, won't get much better than that! Capital Dark Dopplebock is pretty good. I doubt Metropolitan Generator is available up there, but if you see it get some.
Yes, another good one that can be found in WI.

It's been awhile since the original post so I thought I would check back and leave my impressions. I've only tried three different Doppelbocks since. Here are the ones I have tried.

Leinenkugel's Big Butt Doppelbock - this one was OK but nothing special and not something I would buy again.

Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock - this one was much better with a lot of flavor. I really like the strong punch of sweetness at the end of a sip. Overall very nice

Wasatch The Devastator Double Bock - this one was somewhere in between the other two. More flavor than the first but not as intense as the second. Also very enjoyable.

Celebrator is a good doppelbock. Leinie's is a huge disappointment. Try Paulaner Salvator for another good dopplebock that is usually available in most places. I didn't find Wasatch doppelbock very appealing.

I don't find Capital's Blond Doppelbock to be a good representative of bock beer. It's not a bad beer, but just not representative of what a good rich bock should be. On the other hand, Autumnal Fire and their Dark Doppelbock are VERY good bocks !
