Hoping for some quick advice...hoping to find a good shop between the PA border and the Outerbridge Crossing that's off of Interstate 78. Like, right off 78 that would possibly have stuff I can't get in New York (possibly Kane or Carton, but I know that's probably a punt at best). Thanks in advance...Oh, and it would be Tuesday, where every brewery in NJ seems to be closed.
I don't think Kane sells cans/bottles in stores, sometimes you can find growler fills. Look for like a bottle king. They'll generally have Vine Shine/Low Vis from Magnify, some Carton, Brix City, Bolero Snort, Jersey Girl, etc.
Super Buy Rite in North Plainfield (on Rt. 22) is definitely a place you should hit. Not more than 10 minutes off 78 and they always have Kane, Brotherton, Magnify, Carton and a lot of NJ Brews on tap at the growler station. They also get a lot of Carton can distribution as well as Brix City, Bolero Snort, Magnify, Alementary and any other NJ canned offerings if you are looking for that. Freebridge wine and spirits. Right on the PA border in phillipsburg, right off 78. They get carton cans (all cans, not just the 2 Roads ones), and they have a shit ton of beer on tap for fills. EDIT: I should say that "all carton cans" only means the 2 roads stuff and Boat and Odub. The special releases like monkey chased the weasel, dune fruit, and shinshu don't get distro in cans. They do have a couple of those for growlers though according to beermenus.
This isn't exactly what you asked for, but also look into Shangy's in Emmaus, PA, not too far off of 78. Supposedly an awesome selection (I haven't been there myself, but my sister in Bethehem keeps threatening to take me there some day ). Have a great vacation!
Just a small nitpick, but some of their special releases do make it out to distro. I was able to find Epitome, Cosmonaut and Regular Coffee at one of my local shops.
True that. And actually, their beermenus page says they still have all of those. Don't know how accurate they keep it but it was just updated today. Damn that would be a sick haul: boat, odub, cosmo, epitome, reg coffee, hoppun, idipa, beach, and unjuct. Swimming in carton cans
I'm pretty sure I stopped at that place last year and their beermenus page wasn't even close to being accurate. It was a decent shop, cool surroundings, but I wasn't too impressed. Think I bought a 4 of Terrapin WnB and a few Port bombers and that was it.
