Hey all. I'm going to be in the Northhampton area tomorrow and was looking for good brewery/craft beer bar ideas in the area. The threads I found aren't very current on this. We're going to hit up Building 8 for sure. And Brick & Feather on the way back up to Vermont. Any suggestions is the area are welcome!

My knowledge of Northampton is a little dated but I think The Foundry is a pretty good bet for taps downtown. Brick & Feather is the essential stop for growlers - invest another twenty-something minutes travel east from there to Honest Weight's very nice taproom in Orange then back up route 78 to 119 to get you back to 91.

Five Eyed Fox is a great spot for food. Its in the same town as Brick and Feather.

Honest weight if you have time for sure. One of the best spots no one talks about.

The Foundry is the best place in town for beer, in my opinion. Solid food too.

Have come across a couple of their beers in Boston. Untitled, Unmastered is a lovely IPA

Other beer spots in downtown Northampton include the Dirty Truth and McLaddens. I haven't lived out there for a while so I can't vouch for quality, but there are now 3 breweries along the rail trail in Easthampton: Abandoned Building, New City, and Fort Hill. And yeah, I'll third Honest Weight, had the branch bridge at deep ellum the other day, legit stuff.

Honest Weight is now firmly on the itinerary especially b/c they have Sunday hours. Thanks fellow advocates. Cheers!

Don't miss the Positive Mental Attitude, a very most excellent pale ale. It may be my favourite of everything they have on this week or I may be biased because I have a glass of it in front of me right now.

Great to know. It's amazing how few breweries have Sunday hours in MA. My wife and I had a great beer day in Queens about a month ago on a Sunday. You could probably do it in or around Boston, but elsewhere in the state it would be very hit or miss.

Brick and Feather was cute, though not much variety in their pours (3 IPAs and a Belgian Pale). Honest Weight was great. Sean is a helluva nice guy. Their 'Positive Mental Attitude' was refreshing and we'll crack a bottle of 'Overly Dedicated' at a bottle share on Friday (really looking forward to that one).

As for Northhampton, we really enjoyed Ye Ol' Watering Hole and Deuces WW2 bar. Not craft beer destinations per say, but I found Abandoned Building and Wormtown brews respectively. And Jen @ Deuces is about the most fantastic bartender I've ever met.

15 minutes away from NoHo is Amherst brewering company and they have some very good beer and they usually have cans as well.

I've had a really good beer from Fort Hill Brewing, that is based in Easthampton, called Jigsaw Jazz. I hadn't heard about them until a local store in Auburndale recommended it. I've gone back twice for resupplies.

Figured I'd cap this thread off with a quick shout out to Honest Weight.

Masterful imo. Bright acidity, prickly carbonation, beautiful balance of tartness, funk, oak, and hops. Right up with there with HF saisons.
