    No Upright -Engelberg Pils!

You are assuming that someone from Upright actually sent some to be reviewed?

Not assuming that at all, just professing, once again, my love for a pilsner I believe to be much better than those listed:slight_smile:

You'll get no argument from me! Even compared to the other pilsners rolled out by Upright, Engleberg is vastly superior. Fantastic albeit simple recipe.

I'm with you...a well crafted Pils hits the spot everytime! Engelberg is darn tasty. The only thing I could imagine beating it out locally is Chuckanut Pils or Laurelwood Portlandia Pils(which was a little out of range for a traditional Czech or German pils).

I havent had Chuckanut, Ill have to look for that. Laurelwood Portlandia is quite good too, but I am with you, I did not feel it was a traditional pilsner, to me it was a bit more pale aleish, however, that does not bother me. a rose by any other name...

Ahh man. Chuckanut Pils. There is a reason why it wins medals  If I see it around town I will let you know and maybe I can swing some your way. Us Pils lovers are rare breed these days.

I like em all (I'd have a very tough time choosing between the heater allen and the portlandia), but I can't think of any pils I've had from the NW that I like more than the Upright Engelberg pils. I love that it's the house beer over at Grain & Gristle. It's the perfect after appetizer thirst quencher following a plate of fish sauce wings at pok pok noi next door.

(been too long since I last had the chukanut.... all I recall is that it was excellent).

I know how to fix that, John. BTW, Cnut had their O-fest last weekend and I went through 6 pints of their fest beer. Good, good stuff.

What's their distribution like these days Terry? I remember when we went to the brewpub several years back, it wasn't wide spread (except in Bellingham), but there were a couple of places where you could find their beers in Seattle. Is that still the case?

Now that the GF has moved to Tacoma, I don't get up to Seattle as often as I once did, so it would be nice if they started distributing to Tacoma as well one of these days.

Still not super easy to get, but not impossible. Have seen it in Tacoma a few times in the last month or so. Red Hot, Parkway, and Pint Defiance.

Don't like hearing that about Pint Defiance. I think the GF would have pretty much disowned me if I made one more stop there during my last trip out. Alas, it's less than a mile and a half from her house, and the selection there is so damn good, I just can't stay away!

They're selling a lot of beer in Seattle, but I don't what their distro to Tacoma is like. I will find out for ya though (this weekend is the windup of Bellingham Beer Week, I'm sure I'll be encountering those guys around town), seems like it should be around T-town though.

Cnut has distribution through Click to the Tacoma area, so it should be an easy grab for any bar that wants to get a keg.
