finally this has arrived in CT. went on the shelves yesterday. tried some last night and being a fan of root beer this hit the spot. glad we finally got it here as I've been seeing it everywhere else for awhile now
Is this in the hartford area? Saw a lot of posts on FB where people were seeing it, but none of the spottings i saw were in Hartford county.
also had one last night. Not quite as good as I remember. Anyone know the details on this? I heard PBR aka Oasis Beverage purchased Small Town Brewery. Are they brewing in a new facilty, or is it just the distribution network that changed?
exactly, i was not impressed with this. it was good, but really not much different than root beer to me. people were clamoring for this and when i had it i was like, well taste like root beer and someone poured a shot of vodka in it. i would tho, like to try it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
Not too bad at all... I am going to sound like a bit of a homer here but I still think the Sprecher edition is better. It has a little less of the syrup taste.
hope we get the bombers. I can't wait to mix this and steves ice cream. some of the bars already have it too. had it at one the other night.
Picked up a case at Kays Wine and Spirits in East Hartford/Manchester border line, if anybody is looking for it in Hartford County. I really enjoy root beer so had to buy a case of it, unbelievable how drinkable it is even though its just a tad sweet. On a side note beer guy said they will be getting grapefruit sculpin 6pks tomorrow afternoon, so thought Id throw that out there. Anybody try root beer floats with this beer?
I bought a 6 pack yesterday. This stuff is trouble. My wife made a root beer float with it. It was pretty awesome. Pretty much tastes just like root beer.
Interesting, yesterday I checked a bottle list at Arooga's bar & grill next to Mohegan Sun and they showed a NYFRB at 10% abv. I'm not a fan so I stuck with a Dirt Wolf then Hop Knife, but if you are then it may be worth calling to check since it sounds like the higher abv versions are scarce
In regards to Aroogas I actually asked a waitress because I noticed the same thing and she verified it's the normal 5% it's just listed incorrectly.
I'm willing to bet all are just screw ups. or ppl hoping it'll get even a few more through the doors. I do wanna try the 10%. we're supposed to get them. dunno when though.
