Coming outta the blue here I know, I simply don't understand the love for this garbage.

Cheers to those who do dig it.

The popularity of this stuff amazes me, but it shouldn't. Enjoy your flavored malt beverage, fans of this product. Who recently purchased this brand, again?

what percentage ABV bottiling is hitting Michigan? the 5.9% or 10+%. What prices are shops asking for it to be sure we are not getting gouged?

    Thanks

    PBR I believe.

10% has only been bottled 1 time in an extremely limited quantity and was gone super quickly. Still no word on a future bottling in Chicago yet.
15% I dont think exists, but there is a 20% and has never been bottled. I believe the 10% and 20% are made at a different, much smaller facility in IL but who knows now.

Ok, maybe it's just a distribution agreement with PBR, but that's confirmed. And it's brewed in La Crosse, WI.

""As much as everyone talks about how we're in the golden age of craft beer, we're also seeing tremendous growth in the sweetened, flavored, soda pop-y, beer segment. Things like shandys, hard root beers and hard ginger beers have been on fire for the past couple of years," said Brophy, who speaks for all Binny's Beverage Depot locations, including the five stores in within the city."

I get that people like it because it has alcohol and is easy to drink, but I don't get why passionate beer people who post on a beer forum would be into alcoholic soda.

Because it IS beer. It's brewed with malt and hops and spiced to taste like root beer. Spiced beer.

I'd try it but won't be buying particularly a lot of it. However, if my wife likes it, I can lessen the blow of the trips to the bottle shop if I can bring her back a bottle now and again too.

There's no hops. Its a malt beverage. Basically Mike's Hard Root Beer.

Then if that's the case I guess we shouldn't be allowed to trade it on this forum, right? @blue-dream
