they make a 19%er too. yikes, hahaha. so is this just mass or ny/ct too? I'm guessing all or 2/3 bc i read some good but on the same level bad comments on their fb. few ppl said pabst bought them out. which means production will def go up. if true though, hopefully quality doesn't suffer too much. I wanna smuggle a few bottles back of the cali version on my trip from this place mission & do a comparison hopefully.

Just one mans opinion so don't go crazy but I can't say I enjoyed it, at all. Popped a bottle last night and it was an absolute sugar bomb. The wife and I couldn't even get through one. I don't drink soda, ever, so maybe I can't appreciate it like some others. I will say, it tastes EXACTLY like root beer and there isn't any hint of alcohol in it, for me. I respect that what they aimed to brew, is nailed. Just isn't for me.

I traded for a six pack of it a couple months ago and my fiancee and I loved it. My college-aged self 15 years ago would have loved this, since I couldn't stand beer at the time (beer in Nashville in 1999 was Natty Ice, Bud or Corona if you were lucky, etc.). And my craft beer loving self of today admires the execution. And finally, my root beer loving self thinks it's excellent. I wouldn't trade for it again having had it, but will definitely pick it up when I see it in Boston.

I'm in Franklin/Bellingham. Besides Redstone (just a pain for me to get to) where can I buy this? I travel to Braintree daily.

I was pleasantly surprised how good this was. Grabbed a couple last week. Very sweet but a great change of pace from my usual hoppy lineup. Having had the 10% on tap a couple years ago, this is a more than worthy little brother!

I noticed last week that Norm penned a love letter to this beer in his column.

...Is this a truly great beer? Probably not, but I love the creativity Small Town Brewery showed in creating this. I hope to get a chance to try their two other versions – one that is over 10 percent ABV and the other more than 19 percent ABV. Until then, I expect the lower ABV version of Not Your Father’s Root Beer to be filling my mug on a relatively frequently basis....

Village Mall Liquors right off of 495, exit 17 had quite a few cases last week. Should still be around.

I have been seeing this in large quantities in many medium sized and larger liquor stores. It's pretty easy to find in my area.

I've been making a pretty mean root beer float with it. I've heard that adding a shot of vanilla vodka in addition to the ice cream kicks it up an extra notch.

Thanks, friends. I'm curious to try this beer...it would go well with the hop bombs from trill and tree.

A couple weeks ago, a brewer told me they are putting their 20% in bombers soon. No idea if that will distro... but watch out.

This also hits Maine and New Hampshire next week. Being distributed through Pabst. One of the reps told me they are still trying to figure out a way to distro the higher abv versions and not sacrifice the quality

It's solid, I picked it up at Gordon's. I wouldn't call it beer it's soda with booze basically, makes a great float!

What popular style does this beer most closely resemble? Brown ale? Quad? Something else?
