Okay.. So for the first time in the 4 years we've been together, my fiancée liked a beer I was drinking. Not only did she like it, she drank half of my only damn bottle. I got this as an extra and have no idea how tough it is to get. Can anyone who has knowledge of how hard this is to acquire please tell me what I would have to give up for 4-8 bottles of this. You have no idea how excited I am that I found a beer my fiancée will drink.. Thanks!
You should be able to get a trade done if you offer fresh, in demand IPAs $4$. Small Town has increased production and distribution so the six packs are fairly easy to get in and around Chicago and a couple other markets. The higher ABV bombers are harder to find and trade higher.
If they are for your wife, id try and hunt down a higher ABV bomber, and a few 12 oz. The taste is nearly identical. @cducap is spot on with the demand and what it might take

Congrats on finding a beer your wife will drink. I ask my wife to try every beer I have rated. She will take a small sip and tell me it tastes horrible and that she would rather eat garbage than drink a beer...until..... she tried thumb print apple ale that was received as an extra in a trade. Now she is asking me if I can get more and she will for the first time in 12 years drink a beer with me. So all though I can not answer your original question about how hard it is to get not your fathers root beer I know how excited and frustrated you must be to find a beer that your wife will drink that is not easily available to you.
I had thought the Apple Ale was seasonal, but I have seen it on shelves since it was released late last year. It should be easy for you to get and as a bonus, it is priced pretty affordablly. As for not for your fathers root beer, it just hit a liquor store in Hudson, WI right by the Twin Cities. Don't know if it will stick around, but heard it has been sticking around the Madison area.
Though it's great your wife loves it, don't give up much for it. It's about as tough to get as bud light if you're in the right area.
It seems to be all over the place here in MD. I grabbed some for the first time today at $12 a sixer before taxes.
I've seen it a few times now in the Baltimore area. TW Towson, Perfect Pour and Urban Cellars. It seems like it keeps showing up more and more places
