Yes, this. DC, MD, VA? When and where?

I know Richmond is expecting it, so hopefully that means northern VA as well. Can anyone give a quick summary of what kind of brewery Alesmith is? Speedway Stout is the only beer by them that I've ever heard of.

I've never had a beer from Alesmith that was less than very good. Bombers only.

Yulesmith(winter seasonal, "red IPA") is the image I use here...that is how much I like it.
Old Numbskull is a great barleywine. Speedway stout and variants are very very good. Grand Cru, Horny Devil are very good. My lowest rated are ESB and IPA and they are still decently good.

    Yes, they are F-ing awesome!!

Aside from Speedway, their Old Numbskull is an excellent barleywine. Their .394 Pale Ale (homage to Tony Gwinn) is excellent. All around a great brewery.

I'd clear some space in the cellar. and maybe save some extra $$$$. Very good.

Pretty sure that Speedway variants are brewery only. You can purchase online on release dates and set a proxy to pick up. (pays to have a brother in San Diego). Numbskull variants and phenomenal as well.

Wee Heavy is also worth a try. I haven't had a lot of wee heavy's but I can remember thinking at the time that it is the best one I have had.

I think you're right I think they are brewery only. although I may have saw a variant in a shop in PA some time ago... been awhile...

I know they released some BA Numbskull and BA Wee Heavy into distro last year, as I picked some up when I was in Phoenix last March (they were INSANELY expensive, fwiw). Not sure if any of their other BA stuff or other interesting variants have gone into distro though.

Holy hell. Alesmith in NoVA now? Maybe I didn't have to move to SD after all

Perhaps with their new brewery location they're able to distribute further. I highly doubt .394 will make it to VA. They can't make enough to even sell at Petco yet.... but soon. Once their new spot is fully operational it will be a must-stop for SD visitors. They have some awesome stuff planned.

BA Variants make it out into the wild sometimes but could very well be muled beers to able to jack up the price. Their last BA Speedway released a couple weeks ago was the first time available with proxies and it sold out very quick. They have Speedway in JD barrels right now which should be fun.

Edit: Regular speedway is one of the best non-ba stouts for the price point. $12/750ml.

ESB, IPA, Grand Cru, Nut Brown, Speedway, and Old Numbskull are the only things that arrived on this first drop as far as I know.

Any of you try Ocelot Home? It's made with Rye malt, citra & nelson hops. Seems like it's a nod to Alpine Nelson with the addition of citra. Strongly recommend seeking this one out. It gets my vote for best IPA produced in the entire DC metro area. Well done Ocelot.
