Notable May Releases - DC/NoVA?

Pretty much summer releases etc. Next notable release will most likely be Pumpking around July 1 if I were to guess.

 

After KBS/Parabola, I can't think of any beers you have to chase until Fall. Doesn't mean there aren't tons of great beers coming out all the time though. I'll be looking for new beers from Hardywood, Ocelot, Lickinghole Creek, Brothers, etc. DC Brau should brew a fresh batch of Wings sometime soon.

 

Love Child #5 just came out (April) and is on the shelves in DC. Maybe not as notable as KBS/Parabola, but still a pretty decent sour if your'e into that

 

Stickee Monkey 2015?

 

There will be Stickee and Helldorado at some point but that could be this month or August. If you'll cast a larger net, check out Hardywood, Three Brothers, Pizza Boy, Tired Hands, or the upcoming Le Roar release. But that's a pretty big net.

 

Def the Grzzz release, Love Child #5, Stickee Monkee and I'd save up for the events around SAVOR week. You might not get to keep what you try, but the tap-lists should be nothing short of spectacular. I think the Bruery will release that yearly brew sometime soon...

Don't tease me, bro. That's the best beer DC Brau has made imo.

 

I was there several months ago and asked if they'd be brewing it again, and was told "yes, and we'll be canning it this time". Not sure if that's still true, but one can hope.

 

It looks like Bourbon Barrel Porter and Cafe Royale are hitting stores. I also saw the new Avery Raspberry Sour at WF Fair Lakes.

You locals think any Hardywood BA Sidamo/BW/Cru will still be in stock at the larger shops at the end of the month? Wegman's, Trader Joe's, etc.

 

Cru definitely. Sidamo, probably at Wegmans in Fairfax. The same Wegmans still has a couple bottles of the Barleywine too, I won't be surprised if its still there at the end of the month.

 

Cool. I'll be hitting the Wegman's in WB. I'm trying to hit somewhere for single bottles, which the closest might be Total Wine in Springfield, and hit it on the way home the morning after Savor. If it's later that morning maybe Dominion in Falls Church. Has the single bottle selection at WF in Clarendon gotten any larger over the last 6 months?

 

I've actually only been to that WF once, about a month ago. It had a good selection, not outstanding.

 

Has Love Child #5 hit VA stores? I'd love to pick some up at the cheaper Virginia prices.

 

I was at TW McLean yesterday and it was not in store yet, not sure if it has hit others in VA or not yet.

 

Wow so I just went to WF for lunch, all the Raspberry Sours were gone. There must have been 24 on the shelf at $15 when I was in there after work yesterday. People are snatching it up. I drank one last night, thought it was very similar to La Folie.
