Judging by how many people are responding to this one, it will probably be crazy...

The WF P St thing on Friday is almost guaranteed to be a shit show. I'm assuming it will be like when CBS first showed up in Arlington this winter, and people drove in from as far away as Philly to get in line 90 minutes before Rustico opened on a frigid Saturday morning. I'll pass.

Has anyone seen Helldorado in DC or MD?

If I saw it I would say something, I lucked out being up around Philly and picked up a bottle 2 weeks ago though.

On the Firestone note I've seen a few bottles of Stickee Monkee still at A1 Liquors downtown on K street if anyone is interested.

Should also add Westover had a few six-packs of Calm Before The Storm ($19.99).

have you tried the Helldorado? How does it compare to Stickee Monkee?

lol I usually don't mind Westover's prices too much because it keeps things like this in stock, but that is outrageous.

Haven't tried it yet, but I would assume one being an American barleywine the other a quad they are going to be considerably different.

Just saw Bruery's Beret and Jardinier at Schneider's. Not sure if these are new to the area, but it's the first time I've seen them.

I like Stickee the most out of the box beers, with Parabola and Sucaba not far behind. I had Helldorado at the Churchkey tap takeover and was able to do side-by-side comparison. Great beer but not as far as barleywines, I like Sucaba considerably more.

Victoria's Gastropub had a keg earlier this week. No bottles yet.

EDIT: I see @scraff beat me to it.

I had it three weeks ago in St. Louis. It's sweet and thick and not as complex as either Stickee or Sucaba although much closer to Stickee overall. I didn't like it nearly as much as I like those two beers. My two cents.

Everywhere I've called in NoVA seems to be out of Helldorado. Anyone know of any spots it may be lingering?

So I'm sure no one else cares about these, but has anyone seen Paulaner or Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfests anywhere yet? I completely missed out on both of these last year, and they're both favorites of mine.

FWIW, I'm drinking the regular barrel aged Mexican Radio now, and its not on the same level as the Double. Its still a great beer and I look forward to drinking a lot of it this fall and winter, but its not as good as Supreme Leader, Abraxas, etc.

Are they letting you prepay? Also did they say it'll start pouring at exactly 7am? I have to worry about getting to work around 730.
