I believe Stone is about to open there. Then there are quite a few other good places, The Answer Brewpub, Hardywood, etc.

And if you are feeling adventurous another hour to the east puts you in Williamsburg and Aleworks or to the west You got a few near Charlottesville such as Devil's Backbone, etc..

 

another 25 mins west to purcellville is adroit theory. they have 24 beers available for growler fills, offering a wide variety, including lots of barrel-aged stuff.

 

I know I've seen it a few places but can't remember where it was. Anyone seen the Lickinghole Creek - Chai Tea Virginia Black Bear in the NOVA area? Didn't read about it until recently and I want to give it a try.

 

I haven't seen any recently. i think it was distributed around mid-January. it hung around for a while. someone must have a couple bottles left. maybe the bigger total wines will have some lingering around. stuff usually lasts at planet wine in del ray longer than other places.

 

I saw a bottle in Oakton Wine Shop over the past weekend.

 

Totalwine.com claims they have them. Going to call

 

California Stars. Well that one's pretty obvious. Best band of the past 20 years.

 

Out near Ocelot and Aslin is Beltway Brewing, and they're open on weekends. You could see if they still have Grimm's Lambo Door on tap.

I did that trio a couple weekends ago. I'd certainly recommend them all.

Uncle Jacob's at Total Wine McLean. They had a case of Sucaba but it looked like it may be down to there last 1-2 bottles.

 

Total Wine McLean had about six bottles of Sucaba about 2 hours ago.

 

It has in the past, should be seeing it soon...I think...production has only gone up, but so has their footprint...it's good, nothing to write home about IMO, have had it since 2013...the 2013 and 2014 were very bitter from chocolate...haven't opened a 2015 yet.

Price on Uncle Jacob's? There's a pretty wide disparity in this town on what stores charge.

 

Not sure if it helps you, but I've seen 2016 Bigfoot for $8 in several Montgomery County liquor stores.
