I show 4.106 with 3,041 check-ins. Kinda meh for $22.
Homers gonna homer man. Also 4.1 after that many check ins is actually pretty damn good.
I got a regular MZ that was approaching 3yrs old in a trade this summer. It was positively unreal, I'm a sucker for aged Expedition/FIS/Pt5 too but man was it was absolutely amazing. I can't imagine H+V could hurt it, but if you're aging it, that seems a bit counter intuitive.
I didn't realize MZ was that expensive though, you could get a 4pk of FIS and a 6pk of Exp for that price, if the plan is 3 years in the basement.
Any regular GBS still sitting on shelves in the area?
There were a few left at Rodmans after I picked up two last weekend.
Costco on Market still has some and CBC still has about 6 BBA GBS as of Noon today
Anyone know if this area is going to get either of the Big Bad Baptist variants?
Baltimore area got them around Christmas
Calvert Woodley seems to be a dollar or two cheaper for most releases than other DC stores, though their beer department always seems in flux, so I don't know if that will last. Currently imperial mexican biscotti cake break is $15.99 there and around $19 other places in the city.
- Dino Smores - $6 per, I forget 4 pack price
- Plead the 5th - $12 per 4 pack
- Imperial Mexican border biscotti coffee frappuccino cake pie break - $16
- Biggie S'mores - $12
- Willy Gilly - $7 (I think)
Pernicious, double crooked tree are there. Not sure of the prices
All at Calvert Woodley as of 2pm
Some places in Anne Arundel County got Baptista today. Fishpaws in Arnold
Anyone see avance in DC?
Avast! I stumbled on a whale of mine: Black Note, at Craft Beer Cellars, $7.75 a bottle.
Krieky Bones and Scotch Abyss at TW Springfield.
@jacewg any sneak peak/teasers for the IPA Insanity event next week?
Picked up a bottle of Bell's Black Note at Town Center Market in Riverdale, MD.
Yes! Organic Market on Connecticut Ave (Cleveland Park) has a bunch of Dark Horse (Plead the 5th, Crooked Tree, Double Crooked Tree) and Dino S'mores.
Nothing super whalez bro.
But a great line-up of local/regional stuff that will all be HYPER fresh. Almost all will be kegged within a few days of the event.
All will be $5 with all money going to charity.
Lots more coming, but here's a start.
Manor Hill IPA with an extra Galaxy dry-hop (6 pounds per barrel today)
Wings of Armageddon
Stone Enjoy By 2/14
Jailbreak Ephemeral (Most Likely)
Anyone else pumped for Ocelot, Talking Backwards? I sure as fuck can't wait...easily the best Triple IPA I've had, makes knee deep simtra seem like a malt bomb...3 weeks or so to go!
I'm pumped for Painless in bottles, that beer is amazing.
Based on a recent instagram post, it looks like an imperial version of Home is on the way
It's coming along nicely!
One of the best big IPAs I have on draft all year. Very excited. Hope there's plenty to go around.
was at Ocelot last nite, confirmed 30 bbls...500 or so 500 ml bottles too...but draft should be plenty...I may or may not have had a taste last nite from the fermenter...
Have high hopes. Nothing really changed other than some extra hops in whirlpool and dry-Hop. How they're able to get that beer so dry is magical to me.
uncarbed it's better than last year, IMO...Adrien and Mike rule!
Had no idea they were bottling. Have they released info on when and how that will be done?
They've been bottling for at least a year now. All of their barrel-aged beers have been available in bottles (Gravity Always Wins is available now, Painless is coming soon), and they typically have 1-2 of their IPAs available in bottles for $5-6.
They do rule
Shhh stop the Ocelot talk. Love that place and love I can actually get a bottle there!
GAW was REALLY good, had one side by side when Backwoods came out... it wasn't even close, hometown crushed it (the 750 was more than the whole 4x12 but that's not important always). Highly recommend that beer.
Cat out of the bag. Had a sneak peak today of Oliver's Brewing Crown of Lies DIPA. Shit is the bombdiggity. Goes on sale at the brewery tomorrow, 4 packs at DTC tonight I believe. Sooo good.
Agreed. I thought it was very good. DTC had them out on the floor around 2-3 yesterday. Looks like they had a good amount, so I'm sure they have 4 packs left.
Ocelot is quietly making the best BA beers in the region, and its really not even close.
While I didn't have them side by side I'd say I liked Lost Rhino Dark Hours more than BA My Only Friend. Either way I always try Ocelot's BA beers although I wish they bottled those in the 500 mL.
Speaking of which, it looks like this Lost Rhinos Dark Hours dropped this week at the brewery.
Dark Hours is a great beer for sure. I like BA MOF and Painless more, but they are in the same conversation.
Based on their latest Instagram post looks like Toppling Goliath cans are coming to CBC H St next Saturday. Dorothy and pseudosue from the looks of it. Wouldn't be surprised if Golden Nugget is the 3rd one they're referring to.
Lots of good stuff on tap at Rustico Ballston
Barrel Aged Ten Fidy
Give me stout or give me death
Trip in the woods tawny port barrel
WF clarendon has $5 pours/ $12 32oz growlers of the newest DH. That's a much better deal than you'll find the bottles, if you're planning on drinking.
It's tasty, I didn't have it last year, had more of a dry hopped character ala BA rasputin, nothing wrong with that, but not just "bourbon soaked brownie" the hordes are always hoping for.
The Wine Source in Baltimore had a bunch of new(ish) seasonal stuff today. Founders Imperial Stout, Dino S'mores, Imperial Mexican Biscotti Cake Break, Gose Gone Wild 4-packs.
anyone headed to the RAR release next weekend? Looking for a proxy (live in NOVA), since I'll be in Florida.
