Really, really small crowd at CK today. VR kicked in 32 mins regardless, but everything else was still going when we left at 7p. Coffee, VR were great. Regal was good, my first pour, and not a hot mess. BW was infected, similar to bottles.

 

Much more crowded than Migration Week, but nothing crazy. Regal on draft was better than in bottle, which furthers my suspicion about infection. BCBCS '14 was much, much better than BCBCS '15. VR was the best beer I had tonight. Glad I dodged the BCBBW '15.

 

I has about an ounce of VR as it kicked, I concure it was the MVP.

 

Ultrafresh is solid, stupid hashtag name notwithstanding. Not quite up to ocelot standards IMO, but a pretty good local entry in the West coast style, significant bittering hops and not a ton of malt presence, hazy with a good amount of citrus flavor and aroma. Between this and their hoppy saisons, I'm starting to think 3 stars is upping their game after a few years where their offerings have been pretty inconsistent.

Picked up my full 2 4 packs, if anyone is curious let me know and I'm sure we can figure it out.

How did you hear about this event? Instagram, Facebook, beeradvocate?

 

I didn't go but I did see it on Twitter like a day before the event. I'd be interested to hear if they have an email newsletter or something because <24hrs isn't ideal for making plans/finding people to go with.

Came and went at Total Wine in Towson

 

I read about in on dcbeer.com at least a couple weeks in advance....though i think they had it listed at 5 when it actually started at 4.

And though it wasn't super-packed when i was there (4:30-5), I wouldn't say it was a "small crowd". I waited in line 30 minuted to get in the door.
