Of course since everyone before my post shared where they drank previous years of Hardywood releases - my parents house in PA for Christmas Eve, you are cordially invited to share...Does that qualify as an acceptable place even though it is outside the metro area or do I need to start a new post, b/c you know...thread

Nope. Doesn't qualify. But feel free to review the place in a different thread. But I'd be happy to attend, then we can review the beers we drink here? Deal?

Better direct that towards everyone else as well and be clear that no discussion but releases should occur on this thread.

And come on by if you are up in Wilkes Barre, I will be cracking a GNVP

I can only speak for myself in saying that when I get an alert for this thread I always anticipate seeing that someone is sharing where a delicious beer can be found.

I'll let you know if I'm in the area. Will strongly consider it just to see the look on your face when the "stick to the fucking thread" snob from BA shows up with beer.

I hear where you are coming from and agree with it. I'm guilty of posting non release items comments much like almost everyone else on this thread. Perhaps going back to a monthly thread would be good solution.

And come on by, my folks would love to have feed you. You gotta bring a bottle to share though!

I'd be happy to. I've got more bombers than I know what to do with and I can't drink them alone anymore. I should probably stop writing these responses here since it makes me the worlds biggest hypocrite

Lol, well if you ever want to organize a share locally, let me know.

Transitioning back to releases and Hardywood, lol, is regular CM still floating around VA? Second bit, a Hardywood rep told me KCM would be hitting the area Thursday but take that with a grain of salt.

Aslin bottle release plans have been announced. You can now purchase tickets for bottles online ahead of the release, so no more waiting in line. They stick a fee on each bottle for this "convenience" which is pretty damn annoying, but it looks like it's going to Eventbrite and not them. There's gotta be some way to pay Eventbrite once per transaction instead of each bottle.

Mug club members can start buying tickets today. General public tomorrow at 10am. After buying tickets, you have to go pick them up in person on Thurs or Fri (no proxies). 300 bottles per beer available. Limit 3 per person.

Overall I think this is better as the line stuff got ridiculous, but hopefully it's not too much of a shit show for non mug club people with F5'ing tomorrow morning.

That's interesting, I think I like it. I like their beer but I've never felt it was worth standing in line for (especially given the small allocations), but if I can take a shot at an online sale and head up for a no-hassle purchase then I'm definitely more likely to participate. For some reason it seems like everything Aslin does rubs me the wrong way, but this actually seems like a good decision from them.

I'm really not sure how this Aslin thing is gonna work out. I like that it's no proxies at least. With such a limited amount of bottles. Doesn't seem like there's gonna be much to go around. How many mug club members are there? 25? 50? Seems like they might be the only ones to get any.

I know Aslin recently put in some larger fermenters, so hopefully that means some kegs get into distribution. I don't care about the packaged beer--I just want to be able to walk into Meridian Pint and order an Orange Starfish.

There are 100 mug club members, so they could put a real dent in the bottles available for non-mug club if they go nuts.

600 bottles of each with a 3 bottle limit means the Mug Club members could claim up to half of the bottles if they all maxed out (18 bottles), though I can't imagine that will actually happen. That's $195 before taxes and fees. I'm as big of an Aslin fanboy as anyone, and I was only planning on buying somewhere between 5-10.

A 100 mug members. If they all buy their full allotment that wipes out half the total allotment. I'll be on refreshing at 10:00 AM but this isn't looking good for getting any of this release.

I won't be around for this shitshow but I would be hesitant to pay $0.50/oz for IPAs that were recently scaled up. Especially after those clear looking batches they released recently. Who knows how the beers will turn out.

That's a good point. I've only been more recently (i.e. since they quit having to-go options) and they only had Orange Starfish on tap and I wasn't blown away. I'm wondering if all the to-go options will be on draft as well and you can taste before deciding...
