Notable Releases - DC/NOVA/MD

Does anyone know if this is a one time distribution or if they have actually started distribution into dc?

 

I can't say for sure, but they did the same thing for the last CBC in Philly--probably safe to assume it's a one time thing.

 

Sadly, yeah that's what I was thinking.

 

I'll be interested to see how the "not hazy enough" crowd reacts to Sip. It's a great beer, but it's nothing like Tree House or what most people think of as "NE IPAs" these days.

The stuff brewed in-house by Lawsons isn't really either--it's a little hazy, but hardly opaque. Really, it's my preferred version of the style but I could see people accustomed to beers that taste like juice thinking it's too bitter.

 

I'm with you on that preference. I went from West Coast, the more bitter the better to NE juice bombs. Now I feel like I've settled at an intermediate spot where I really prefer IPAs like SoS and Jai Alai.

 

So, is it worth it for me to head to CBC after work?

 

Conn Ave had a few 4pks of Sip and some sixers of Super Session left. 16.99/13.99 respectively

 

They did just/are about to greatly expand their brewing facility, so it's possible distro will go wider in the future.

 

Any other interesting CBC related drops coming?

 

Just a heads up, that FW Fortem that's dropping in NoVA right now is getting good reviews and was just canned less than two weeks ago. A fresh hop distribution from FW? Unheard of!

 

Literally every iteration of Luponic Distortion has arrived fresh.

 

Had one last night, was pretty awesome. If this is the replacement for Double Jack (which I also loved) and we get it fresh to boot, I'm definitely on board.

 

Anyone pick up the new batch of Yonder Cities? I cant remember the last time I drove out to DC Brau, but it might be time to change that.

FWIW, this is popping up around town as well -- I picked up a sixer at Hop, Cask and Barrel in GT today (they had at least one left). Nice place -- also have Westy 12 and some other good stuff.
