Also saw it on ChurchKey's "DC Beer Week" event tap list next Thursday, along with a apricot/pineapple OTWOA (cask).

I like the Genius Loci series from Lost Rhino, but I don't find them leaps and bounds better than Wonders of Nature- maybe for the other Ocelot sour offerings I'd be a little more inclined to agree. To each his own though; I'm just glad LoCo breweries are getting to the point of being worth discussing.

Anyone else heading to the DCBW Cask Event at District Chophouse tonight? Went last year. Big DCBW sleeper.

I had an Ocelot California Stars, then I had an Alpine Nelson. Halfway through the Nelson i was ready to dump it out and have another California Stars. There was something about the tingle California Stars left on my tongue that made me want more.

Sixpoint 4Beans was at Dominion in Falls Church earlier this afternoon when I stopped by. Not sure if it's still there, but they said they're getting another 20 cases next week. Arrowine in Arlington was supposed to get it today as well, but they said it didn't show up. I'm guessing we'll see it pop up everywhere next week.

What's 4 Beans going for? Just saw it at $15 (out in the burbs).

I think it was either $12.99 or $13.99 at Dominion. Would have to find the receipt to confirm.

A few sixers of Solar Abyss left at Irving Wine and Spirits in Columbia Heights. Cheers!

Nelson is incredible, if home is even 4/5ths as good that would be awesome. If it is somehow better or even as good it will be our first crazy hyped beer. Oh good god.

Hello ladies and gents. I'm from MD and just joined the site, love me all kinds of beer.

Got a Heavy Seas Fielder's Choice right now, I think it's been out a couple weeks but was just now able to get a 6er of them. Kind of like a more complex Natty Boh, I like it. Comes in pint cans too which is always cool.

Had a can of Solar Abyss for the first time at The Partisan on Friday night. Pretty pricey at $9, but well worth it. Incredibly juicy and fresh. The best new IPA I have had in a long time.

Was it a real Alpine Nelson or a Green Flash/Alpine Nelson? Those are very different beers.

Just got a response from them, they said they're shipping it out this week. We'll see...

Was at the brewery last week, they had buttloads of it sitting on the floor. It was a glorious sight.

On tap at World of Beer Ballston, so... Green Flash Nelson. It reminded me a lot of Hopslam - sweet, honey, malty.

First for Ocelot, it would be. Not there yet, though. First for this area? Not even close.

Let me clarify that by "hyped" I meant to say very tradeable, as in reference to the "tradability" of Alpine Nelson and that sort of hype. OTWOA & Solar Abyss may be world class, but I can't even trade for OtherHalf beers with those. I'm not counting Hardywood because they're too far from the DC metro area ( DC metro area beers are those considered within my statement). If you disagree, please provide me with some examples because I'd like to learn.
