Springfield TJ's had just put their last case of BBGBS on the shelf about 45 minutes ago. 2pp limit.

 

Hopefully everyone was able to land both Abraxas and BB GBS.

Abraxas seemed to be very limited for each store so was near impossible to get if you couldn't make it to the store within the hour of knowing it was out. Anyone know of any Abraxas drops for next week? Did get plenty of BBGBS though!

 

Just got my Java Cask today at Smoke and Barrel and Meridian Pint. Have to imagine you'll see it on shelves in DC soon, if you haven't already.

Pretty solidly priced as well.

 

Anyone that won ANTEAD lottery heading to Kane on Sunday? Quick strike for me, got my 8 bottles, all my NJ friends got shut out, I keep 1 set, and split the other set between 4 buddies. Gonna be at Kane around noonish on Sunday, then head up to Carton, then hope to meet some friends for lunch, then back to VA...all in the name of beer.

 

I think every local TW and WF got a case and there was still some in Sterling TW as well as Planet Wine as of yesterday.

 

K-1 has Double Duckpin, AleSmith Double Red, regular GBS, Tiramisu-Hoo, and Xocoveza (even snapped a pic for the guy who suggested I can't tell this from Stone Milk Stout).

 

WF Clarendon had Abraxas this morning

 

Damn there were like 7cs there on weds afternoon. I asked one of the main guys if I could purchase a case and he said "it's been there for a while, go for it!" That pic makes me even happier I did.

 

Thanks for the pic, but for the record, if you really did see Xocoveza on shelves at TWs around here over the last month or so, you are the only person, including people who work at the stores, who has done so.

 

Wouldn't be the first time a TW employee didn't know what they were talking about.

 

I assume OP was asking about VA, but Abraxas has dropped (and is probably mostly gone) in MD. Most places got no more than one case. Perfect Pour got one case and it was gone in under one hour. Seems much more limited than last year.

I hear you - in VA last year it seemed like Abraxas didn't even show up and the places that got it were sold out the same morning. Maybe Perennial switched up their distro similar to GI, rewarding the outfits that sell more of their beer?

 

Anyone know if CK still has Abraxas? Their menu (at time of posting) hasn't been updated since Thursday, so wondering if Friday kicked it.

Of what? Xocoveza at K-1? I never disagreed with that, actually picked up some there myself. My problem has been that I have yet to see this at Total Wine in the area, and the employees at several stores have insisted to me (as of last week) that they haven't either.

This is a dumb argument though, so I'll end it here and let this get back on topic. Thanks again for the pic and the heads up - Xocoveza is one of my favorite beers.
