I currently cross the pike in that same route to visit a much shittier bar. I'm cool with it

Honestly, the location is great for me. My parents live in Belmont. If I move back to the area, I'll be back in Cambridge. It's in a location that is in the city without having to go through the city. At least from my perspective.

Arsenal Yards is shaping up to have a nice selection of dining options when it opens. It can only add to the foot-traffic the new taproom should benefit from. I'd swing by from Waltham for double decocted lagers.

Live in Belmont, can walk there from my house. Sounds awesome. Also love that they will be putting in what sounds like a legit beer garden. Actually, sounds nicer than what they have in Salem currently.

Will really need to see what that spot turns into. All this sounds great, but it’s still surrounded by traffic on 3 sides.

when i drove by yesterday afternoon, it looks like they're going to have to do a lot of work to get that place ready. i wonder if they're using the existing structure or if they are going to have to significantly change the property.

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone else has had issues with the session pils batch dated best by March 4, 2020?

The first can I opened from the six pack had this overwhelming vegetal/rotten food smell and taste. I considered maybe my palette was messed up and drain poured it. Over the next couple days, the next four cans were the usual I expect from Notch. But I just opened the last can and I could tell immediately it had the same issue as the first. My wife was around this time to confirm I wasn't crazy. She refused to even taste it smelled so bad.

Anybody else experience something like this?

Notch has acknowledged issues with Left of Dial cans from a similar time frame. Might want to contact them.

Ah, thanks, I hadn't heard about that. Sounds exactly what I experienced.

Hey I like Salem just fine. It’s the Halloween tourism I don’t like.

Just picked up a pack of Fodderstomph, have not had this yet - looking forward to some crispies tonight!

I love Notch, but don’t find this beer that crisp. YMMV

I agree. Was fairly disappointed when I grabbed it earlier in the year.

I think it’s one of their better offerings.

Malt profile is solid as always with them, but the mouthfeel is a bit on the soft side for a German Pils. Although I don’t know if it’s emulating a Southern German Pils. The Northern ones tend to be crisper, hoppier, and drier.

Per Notch's Instagram story this morning, Psychocandy being canned. It doesn't come around often, but such an excellent beer. Drank it a few times in 2018 and it was easily one of the best beers I had that year.

This was my impression after a 4 pack. Sweeter, softer and not as dry as I was thinking it might be. Good beer for sure but not exactly crispy...
