This latest batch of The Standard was tap room only. The next batch for the end of February will be distributed. See post #6 above from Chris.

I got Standard and Cerne Pivo at Fort Point yesterday, unfortunately I think they are out on Standard

Oh shit, you're right. One of my stores said they were getting a delivery of The Standard on Thursday...I have a feeling they are not...

Anyone have Raw Power yet? How's it compare to Dog and Pony Show?

I knew I read it somewhere else too...

    Was it old product?

The Standard people are buying is from the original batch.

You know I’m not really sure. I had been on the prowl for this beer and didn’t bother checking date. Will report back later

As @soheadyithurts mentioned it's likely the first batch. Can date should/would be 10/3/18 for The Standard.

Mine is the original batch, but Fort Point Market keeps 90% of their beer refrigerated and it's a pilsner. Tasted great to me.

I had one last night from the new batch canned and thought it was pretty good.
Not sure if it was a canning issue, but mine seemed a bit flat. I've had it on tap in Salem and remember it a bit sharper with a nice head, but no so with my 1st can. Flavor wise, a bit more NE IPA fruitiness, but pretty good to me. Dog and Pony Show is def more crisp and lighter, more like a Whirlpool to me. I'll try another can tonight.

I'm sure it still tastes good, especially since it was refrigerated.

I personally wouldn't buy it at 4 months old though. I don't see Pilsner as all that different than other hoppy beers (with the exception of MAYBE New England IPAs...but still). When the hops fade, it throws the balance off in the beer. I like the hops to really pop to give it that extra depth and complexity.

Makes a huge difference...ever get your hands on a Boston Lager < 1 month old? It's a surprisingly hoppy beer. The older it gets, the more caramel-malt forward it gets.

I agree I'd want to try it in peak state, but I'm sure it'll drink just fine

Oh definitely. If imports like Weihenstephan can hold up for 4-6 months, I'm sure this will be ok.

Peak state is definitely preferable, and if you ever have beer from the source in Germany, it's a big difference.

But if someone offered me a Standard that was four months old, I'd happily drink it.

@ChrisLohring Any chance of Notch hitting distro in the western end of the state in the future? Visited you guys a few years ago but would love to be able to buy regularly.

Damn, I'm jealous. Anyone know if these are available at Yankee Sturbridge? Tempted to make a run up there today to stock up for Sunday.

Exactly my thought! I sent a message to @YS1977 to check on inventory before making the drive.

Trying the Voll Projekt NEIPA at the moment. Fairly poor. Thin and a mute of flavor. Completely misses the mouthfeel. Swing and a miss
