I think it was @jbertsch I was thinking of.

I looked back at my last Notch can I snapped a pic of, it was Desitka. There's about a half inch thick head on my pour. Less than I'd expect to be honest, but not terrible.

And of course, you're not going to replicate the head from a side pull with a can.

Here we go, I posted it a few pages back...page 5 if anyone wants to see a bigger picture of it.

Yea, I flipped through Untappd pics last night (insomnia is a bitch) and some pours had big foamy heads, and others were pretty thin. I know for mine a rough pour got a nice finger of foam that dissipated quick, but that was my second can/pour cause I wanted a good pic for Untappd (the first was too thin and I enjoyed the beer, so I wanted it to look good).

This has been my experience with Desitka. I bought a good chunk of cans from the 4/14 batch. Slow pours for the rocky head, dissipated quickly to almost nothing/nothing after sitting for several minutes. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the beers, but noticed this immediately.

Glad I'm not crazy. No lacing whatsoever, looks flat after a minute. Tastes and drinks amazing.

I thought both Desikta and the Standard were lacking in the head department, but tasted phenomenal.

Does anyone know if you can just show up to the brewery now to pick up beer to go?

Or do you have to do curbside and order ahead?

Still think you have to order beforehand for curbside. They’ve tweaked it a bit now. No longer picking up in garten with it open. Call as you arrive for your order with pickup in the parking lot.

So the crowlers seem to be no longer on the website for preordering. Are they offering them as takeaway for those that can attend the biergarten, or are they not available at all?

Was just there yesterday and crowlers weren't listed on the available options you could order. Now that I think of it you couldn't order small pours either - only the half liter sizes were listed.

Thumbs up on the experience though. Ordering was simple on the website and kept interaction to a minimum. And I was expecting it to be mobbed but we were able to get seated immediately and there was a free table or two available the whole time we were there.

And one cool non beer related thing. There is now a wide wooden walkway along the water on the other side of the fence that bordered the canal in the beer garden. One of the servers told me they've got a permit that will allow them to install additional seating out in that area so there will be more space outside going forward.

Their new strawberry shortcake TIPA. It was terrible.

For the first week we stripped it down to make sure things ran smoothly. Schnitts are back next week and crowlers back soon.

So, I love Tmavy, but does anyone else find it to taste more like a Schwarzbier?

Totally joking. It was actually a new czech dark lager with pancake syrup and rocky road ice cream

For real though I had the keller and the dark lager. Both were delicious but honestly between the heat, the excitement of simply being out again, and a somewhat deep conversation with my buddy I wasn't paying as close attention to the details as I otherwise might so I can't pretend to give a meaningful review.

It's hard to know these days. I never thought Notch would make a hazy IPA either. And COVID brings out the crazy in everyone.
