Catch 22 for you. love the Salem spot, but it’s no longer in the equation for me and my situation being 15 mins from Brighton. Special treats may be lesser here (yes, I want this pitch casks, etc.), but I’m more than content with sneaky draft and convenience.

Got a 4 pack of Dvanactka, no longer a national emergency.

The draft list at Brighton is...I need to get over this weekend. TMAVY BACK.

@MattOC how is it in the beer garden? Are folks (if there are any) sitting outside?

Quiet. Only a party of 3 outside. I’m the only one inside besides staff.

A few small groups have just rolled up, but less than a dozen in attendance on the whole. Those groups have all sat outside.

Three new *cans*, beers not necessarily new, leading up to Starkbierfest…

Löggerhead has been a Dopplebock in the past, a rauch doppelbock for this year.

Yeah Gates, Tmavy, and Helles Spezial are three of my favorites….might have to make the walk from Somerville to Brighton tonight.

Headed down here and discovered this.

I have to say, the PLP Zwickel is one of the best pitch lined offerings they’ve had. Delicious.

Love the zip in bitterness complementing a wonderful Graham cracker/biscuity sweetness from the malt. The latter is really spot on.

I failed, I did not make it over to Brighton today. Shame on me.
Seeing I missed a pitch lined offering just rubs it in.
Instead I got to run all of the errands and do the kiddo pick up/drop offs instead. (My better half had an all day online conference, which was on the family calendar - so my bad)
No Notch for me today :slight_frown:, so I will drown my sorrows with a can or 2 of Saison DuPont and enjoy some vegan tacos.

Was this Salem or Brighton? Original post was for Salem with the kvasnicové, but I didn’t see this update on IG. Unless they deleted it.

Looks like 500 ml bottles are returning soon. Wowee Zowee getting the bottle treatment in the near future.

Stopped in again this weekend both days (yeah I may have a growing Notch problem). Helles Special was the highlight, really good. My wife was glad to see Tmavy as she prefers the darker side.

I'm intrigued by the turnover rate. Suspect Devices came and went in what, a week? On the plus side it's great the beer is fresh and there are new ones to try. But I guess if something catches your fancy you better jump and get it.

I was excited to have some Gates of the West, and I enjoyed it, though not as much as the Czech and German style offerings. I would really love to see some of the English styles in gravity casks but I have a feeling those are going to be for the pitch lined pils beers. Maybe I'm just missing NERAX at this time of year.

Spoke to one of the bartenders last week and he said they had to buy in a few kegs of Left of the Dial from the distributor in order to keep a full tap list after St. Patrick’s weekend crushed them. Chris has said a few times “that was a really long/slow winter” so awesome to see them busy and turning beer over. I know they alter the offerings for summer when it’s busier to keep turnover higher. The colder months are when we get the best variety and are rewarded for our Notch geekery.

Agreed, I'm happy to see them deservedly busy. I think they were close to or at internal capacity on Saturday once the rain rolled through and everyone went inside.

It must be a challenge to try and balance production with future consumption plus figuring out how much to distribute. I'm fascinated with the problem but glad I don't have to try and solve it.

I mean, when part of your pitch is the duration of the lager time, versus other breweries and “we jammed 20x the normal amount of hops in the dry hop two days ago. Now drink our salad water IPA” it’s a tough battle.

    This was Salem.

Do you mean Suspect Devices on tap or in cans?

Because if it's the latter there's plenty of cans at Ball Square.

I meant at the brewery in either incarnation. I grabbed Tenner, the anniversary beer and SD at ball square last week.
