Since the pandemic began, we’ve been out alone exactly three times (new baby, no child care options). We don’t need fancy. We need kid free stuffing enchiladas and loaded nachos in our faces. We eat Mexican all the time and this place comes highly recommended

Nice! Crush some margaritas while you’re at it as well. Doesn’t hurt it’s like two feet from Notch.

Couple other pro tips: Go to Jaho and get a boozy coffee (or whatever drink you prefer) in a to-go cup. You can casually stroll around undetected drinking.

Also head to Goodnight Fatty for cookies after dinner. You could pair the two for a nice stroll around Salem before heading home.

A bit off topic, but does anyone know if Super Bien opened yet?

The last IG post from a week ago says "very soon." Always seems to be work being done there while I'm at Notch.

Love this. Adding Jaho and Goodnight Fatty to my list. Thanks for the tips.

Soon seems to be the forever word. Notch Provisions is supposed to be "soon" as well.

Does Chris also have this sign hanging up at the brewery:

Gotta say that Odd Meter has better coffee thank Jaho! Love me some George Howell.

But Jaho is pretty good so we’re splitting hairs here.

Never had Odd Meter. But George Howell is infinitely better coffee than Jaho.

Well if Odd Meter doesn’t serve boozy coffee to go than I won’t be going there. But George Howell coffee is good, entirely agree. Mother-in-law loves it.

Super Bien is open. Wines are $15 a pour and the empanadas are $4.82 after tax, and about half the size you’d expect for an empanada. I got two to go. The beef one is delicious. The bean and cheese is interesting. The cheese on top is like the powdered stuff you get in Kraft mac & cheese. It’s good and has a little heat to it.

Does anyone know if you can take the wine into the beer garden?

No, I don’t think so. Saw a couple on Friday that came up from between Notch and Super Bien and one was holding a glass of wine. She was stopped promptly before entering the taproom and headed back down while the guy proceeded into the taproom.

I don’t think the biergarten is for anything but beer. That’s why I think it’s cordoned off and other spots that sell alcohol, sake spot comes to mind, have their own little areas of outdoor seating.

Classic Boston micromanagement. It's annoying that it can't be like, say, High Street Place which has a large shared common area where you can bring whatever you get (including alcohol) from wherever you get it.

    How are they?

I might swing through there Saturday, but might go today or tomorrow in case they may run out.
