Notch Brewing (2022)

We do see some East Rock. I’ve heard great things. Had their Hef on tap and remember it being solid.

 

I was at Notch drinking their Rauch Weisse.

Since it's tough to know how fresh Schlenkerla's are on most stores' shelves, I rarely drink them these days.

 

Like like they added a new pale ale this week, Bastards of Young. One of my favorite Replacements songs. So, I’ll probably be there tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. Might also end up there on Saturday to watch horse racing on my laptop like a weirdo. If anyone else wants to bet Saratoga, come find me.

 

My close family friend neighbors to our beach cottage just got back from the track last weekend. Said they had an absolute blast again. They go every year once in July and once in August. I need to get up there with them at some point. He’s a huge race guy. I’ve learned so much about it over the years talking to them about it. Love that you can bring in literally anything you want as long as it isn’t glass.

 

Yep, ~10 years ago I drank Heady Topper all day in the August heat and regretted it. Now I bring in Notch cans and buy an IPA or mixed drink on-site. Only got one weekend in this year, unfortunately. But offer stands for anyone that wants to bet/watch some races on Saturday

 

MIGHT try to swing by today, but it would be after the gym so probably not until dinner time.

 

I don't know if there is one more batch of Tmavy coming out before Cerne season, but Tmavy was not on tap yesterday. @MattOC

Lost In The Dream was back on though.

 

I think it kicked yesterday. I recall seeing people drinking a dark beer when I arrived but it wasn’t on the board when I went back up for round 2

 

You got your wish. A friend told me another tank of Tmavý was up yesterday.

Finally made it to Notch!

I’ve have plenty of canned beer from them, never a pour. Mmmmm mmmm mmm.

I plan on hitting Notch tmrw afternoon and spending the night in Salem. Any recommendations for bars and restaurants?

 

In addition to what @MattOC shared, I'd also suggest asking the staff for recommendations.

 

And double check what’s open. Week after Labor Day is a pretty common one for restaurants to take a break

 

Notch Oktoberfest was a good time today when we stopped by after Trilliums. It was certainly slammed but no line to get in a or anything. Festbier was fantastic
