I hate having to live vicariously through you from work on Fridays.

Missed you this time. Followed your recommendation and got the same beer (and the Dunkel to go). What an unbelievably drinkable beer!

Made it to Salem today. Maybe the biggest crowd we’ve experienced in many many years. Parking was gonzo by after 9 in town. But a certain street before the bridge never lets down for free :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. Notch was busy at open but plenty manageable. By about 12:45 you weren’t sitting anywhere and standing room was hard to find.

Polotamavey always hits right. But we both agree the Standard just is next level. Can’t get enough.

Enjoyed my tasting of Punto and Ungespundet but neither hit right today for pours. Still well crafted!

The rest of Salem was fucking bananas and most locals said they haven’t experienced crowds like the have this year. We assumed Hocus Pocus two contributed to this. Solid day but if you aren’t there by around 9/10 you’re kind of fu&@ed! My cousin owned his home downtown for years and we never saw crowds quite like today over the years in October. Half the streets closed completely to turn people away from parking areas.

Shot down to the Trillium beer garden to escape the insanity and that felt like the country comparatively. For reference if anyone is considering October Salem.

Last stop was visiting our close friends in Tewksbury who couldn’t make it to Notch. But the drive through Treehouse setup is epic a few minutes from their house!

Crazy how amber their Festbier looks in this photo on Twitter.

    Dreary outside, quiet inside.

New Notch beer, “I’ve Got the Power of Massachusetts.” Single decocted, all MA ingredients, rye lager.

For those on the dark side, Tmavy is on the last tank here in Brighton, and low. If you love it like I do, drink up. Normally I don’t get crowlers, but snagged some in case it’s gone by next week. Then we Černé.

Got a half liter Monday when I saw you walk away with one. Looked delicious and figured that might be it soon.

Tenner will no longer be canned, according to Chris on Instagram.

Crazy that it’s being discontinued because it doesn’t sell. That beer is delicious.

That’s too bad about Tenner. Had one on Sunday while watching football and it was delicious!

I bought a ton of Tenner cans so you can’t blame me for this one. I will say that I’m not sure how it was priced at bottle shops. I think I bought both it and The Standard at a store and it was priced higher. Wonder if this was consistent with other stores and whether that affected sales.

I’ve been pushing Notch at my local package store in Western Mass and it has been doing well. Only the Irish Stout and LITD has sat. The employees are drinking it regularly and recommending it to customers. Tenner and the Standard always seem to sell.

That’s a damn shame. Easily my most purchased packaged beer from them.

Happy it will live on in draft form though.

It is one of those great examples of how we're in the minority, though, huh? I don't think I've ever read a bad word about Tenner on this site. Every time someone mentions a visit or a to-go purchase and that beer is available, it's always part of the haul.

    Yet ...

We are but a fraction of the consumer and purchasing habits do not reflect the overall picture, especially off-premise.
