On a separate note…This years batch (Polish Lager) brilliantly showcases the hop effect: ‘magnolia and lavender’, while those melanoidin niceties develop underneath –

 

I don't think they brewed fest in house this year. I believe it's all outsourced (ZG).

 

It’s currently conditioning, for Oktoberfest: this won’t be packaged

 

Chris told me that they "are not brewing the Fest in Salem or Brighton this year." Maybe you are confusing it with the Marzen?

 

I don’t really ever complain about notch, and this is really a compliment veiled in a complaint, but it is a bummer that Grodziskie is only available for 2.5ish months of the year. Having a sub 3% option on tap is really appealing, potentially a whole beer difference per visit for me.

 

Ya. There might be some disconnect, as ZG is potentially building off a new recipe that’s designed to be contracted?

oh are you saying that they had a ZG batch(es) for canning and an extended lagering/conditioning ZG batch for the actual event?

 

Hey @Sheppard the ZG release is separate: was told Notch is currently brewing & planning to release a version during Oktoberfest via draft...I'll see if I can get more clarification, but pretty sure they are not relying on a contracted lager to dispense on-site

Well. After – awkwardly – drilling the staff (e.g. mixed results per Salem vs. ZG/Burlington)…confirmed with July that Oktoberfest (draft) will also be contracted = @Sheppard wins this fierce discussion

Outside of this, July will not smoke/alter the Rotbier per the intention/focus: looking forward to batch 3 come 2024, as the iterations take on a more absolute understanding vs. an alteration
