Hit up the vendor market yesterday in Salem. Amazing weather to sit outside with a pour of the Rotbier. I wish they still had it to-go. Their carbonation on-premise is on another level.

I don't want to turn this into a kids in breweries thread, but Saturday was a bit over the top. I think this was unfortunately due to the beer garden being a no-go due to the rain.

I go to Notch A LOT, obviously. This is the first time it seemed to be a bit much with groups of families and kids.

For the most part I don't care about kids in breweries, never bothers me. And I know there's people in this thread I've seen with their kids, and in NO WAY does it detract from my experience. Well behaved kids, responsible parents enjoying their delicious beer, a good time for all. But this was groups of kids and families commandeering entire tables with snacks, not a lot of beer, kids running around...etc. It's not a huge space, and with the beer garden down it's simply not a place that can accommodate that many families.

That aside, I still had a great time, so all in all I hope everyone that day also had a great time and enjoyed their delicious beers!

They tried this twice for Pats games and once for the Boston marathon. Each time was a flop and I believe they've since given up on the idea.

Idle Hands and Nightshift just have projectors always in the tap room and only pull them down for NFL Sundays, and then for Cs/Bs playoff games.

That being said I feel like the crowds at those two breweries are different than the one's at Notch.

    Hefeweizen on in Brighton.

Also, if you’re heading to Salem on Saturday, they have shortened hours for a private event. 12-4.

    And finally…

Nice, did you go to Log Jammin? I need to go out of my way to make it next year. Looks like too much fun.

Ya. A seemingly impressive lineup across each iteration with brewers/attendees happy to converse (e.g. conditioning practices, fermenting methods, random thoughts…)

Perhaps consider their world event (USA vs. Germany) in October

Not to derail, so will just add…looking forward to this years Grodziskie

Yup, was talking to Chris the other day about it. The dry hopped Hef is returning as well.

I was out of town this weekend so missed Polish Fest. Was thinking about going down there to grab some Lojko - one of my favorites! - but it looks like it's not on. Was it ever on? Doesn't look like anyone's checked it in on Untappd since 2022.

Could have sworn they posted about doing some release at the Polish Legion of American Vets last week before Polish Fest but don't think it wound up happening?

Swung by Brighton last night for first time briefly. Fairly busy at like 10pm with maybe a full wedding party taking over a few tables of beer garden. Got the Grodizkie on draft and Hefe to go. Also had some nice empanadas from that spot.

They've been insanely busy lately...all the time. They've even been busier on slower days like Mondays and Tuesdays. I went there last Sunday and this past Friday...both times the beer garden was mobbed. But in a good way, you could still easily grab a beer and find a seat.

Good to see people enjoying good lager and ale that's not an IPA!

Pretty much every Notch beer is great, but I feel like every couple months a batch of something comes out that’s even better. Right now, that’s the hefe. I’ve always been a fan, but this year’s is incredibly incredibly good. I’ve been a bunch lately and it’s become my every time beer of late.

Completely agree. Wish the weather would improve because when I had it last Sunday in the beer garden it paired very well with 80 degree weather!

This past Friday I went back and forth after the Dunkel between having the Hef next or something different. Ultimately went with the Salem Lager I think since I feel like that one isn't on that often.

I finally made it to Notch in Brighton after a day of sightseeing. French Disko is mighty tasty right about now.
