Looks like we let the Notch thread fall off the front page of New England.

Oktoberfest in Salem a few weeks ago was solid as usual. Batch I had of Festbier was brewed in Salem I believe.

Looks like they've put another saison up since I've been: Petite Saison.

Hexen Stadt and Cerne Pivo being canned in Salem today, will definitely go down whenever Cerne is put on draft!

Crowds can be crazy this month but you'd be surprised how often you can find a parking spot in Notch's lot.

perfect batch of this, especially on draught. I don’t hate the more extreme batches, but this time around the smoke is balanced absolutely perfectly.

Unfortunately the "New England" forum is really the "Tree House" forum, and Notch is just living in it.

I had Tmavý on draft last weekend in anticipation of that being gone. Looking forward to Černé!!!

If you're near Brewer's Fork and it's still on, you can compare to Schlenkerla's Märzen too.

Oh that makes sense to me. I had the new label Luppulo, didn't inspect the brewing location though but it was not the Luppolo of the past, just not as vibrant. Hopefully they can dial it in to what the beer use to be.

Can anyone confirm the new canned Helles is for sale in Brighton?

Luckily my brother was brave enough to go there today in October and get me a four pack. He got a spot too around 5ish on Friday as an FYI to others.

My wife will be in Salem this weekend Fri & Sat all day on a girls trip. When would be an ideal time to send her to Notch to pick me up to-go beers?

Usually go to the Salem location, because the Parking is almost always guaranteed. However, with it being October, I was thinking of going to the Brighton location probably this Saturday evening. What's the parking like at that location?

The speedway lot is very tight and often full. But there's overflow parking next door in the medical facility lot if you can't find on street. I find it much easier to find parking than Salem but I'm not usually there in the evening.

Thanks, yeah I think early afternoon is probably the best plan.

Plan to park in the Charles River Health parking lot (by the Speedway). Don't even consider the Speedway lot even if you see parking. Spots are tight and you may have trouble getting in and out of your car.

No line at noon but line forming now. Very small draft list compared to out of season.[IMG] [IMG]

My wife and her friends ended up stopping by Notch around 7pm on Saturday after they had dinner somewhere else. Said everywhere in town was really crowded but Notch was surprisingly not nearly as crowded so they stayed and had a few drinks there (and picked me up some to go beers).

Notch extending their No Kids policy to 7 days per week and will be strictly enforcing the 6pm rule. Parent here, and see no issues with this and applaud them for sticking to their word.

I’m assuming this is just for the inside of the taproom for Brighton? I regularly meet friends that are new dads in Brighton on Friday after kid pickup. They’re usually heading home around 7 or so, would be very awkward if they were legit getting kicked out of the Speedway at 6. I understand why they want to do this and I have mixed feelings. My view has always been kids should be treated the same as dogs at breweries. Leashed and well behaved, or they have to go.

Is the Notch biergarten also shared with places like Pizza Project for food? So maybe you could get your beer inside solo and then go out to the beer garden?

I was there last Saturday night past 6 and it was bonkers with kids. They said a bunch of families were already there before 6 so they didn't get kicked out.

Saturday may have been a tipping point.
