On August 28, 2013, Notch Brewing debuted Notch Session Pils in a 12oz can, adding to the draft and 12 oz bottle offerings. The cans will be available in a 12 pack format, and available throughout Massachusetts. To celebrate, Notch employees took the long Labor Day weekend off.

Notch Session Pils (4.0% ABV) is based on the Czech session lager known as Světlé Výčepní Pivo (or, pale tap lager of roughly 4% ABV). You can see why we called it Session Pils. It's a wonderful style that is built for multiple rounds, and perfect for the can format. Why cans? Anywhere session beer makes sense, session beer in a can typically makes more sense.

More canned versions of Notch beers will be released in early 2014, possibly a current offering or something new, but it will be lower than 4.5% ABV. Bottles will continue to be offered in 6-packs, in the event you don't dig the can format.

Notch was founded by old school Boston brewer Chris Lohring, and he currently brews in three locations, the Mercury Brewery in Ipswich MA, Two Roads Brewing in Stratford CT (for cans), and occasionally Kennebunkport Brewing in Maine (for cask).

Any idea if he's going to be able to at least hit the $12-14 12pk price of SN, smutty, etc? I'm cautiously optimistic...

I might be wrong, but I do believe I saw it at 14.99 at Kappys Medford.
I already had some Flower Power in hand so I didn't buy it though.
    It's on tomorrows shopping list.
