Was in the Portland area a short time ago and was fortunate enough to have been turned on to this place...

Would like to pay it forward. The tap list is consistently amazing.

That's a pretty amazing tap list (as of right now). [I no longer want to be at work!]

Apex is awesome. Prices are pretty competitive for the market. Cash only kind of sucks, but they absolutely have the best selection consistently, and they take very good care of their beer. I have seen Three Floyd's, as well as Alpine tap takeovers there, so they always have their finger on the pulse. I go there quite a bit.

International Tap House in St. Louis, MO. Four locations, each one has 480 bottled beers available in refrigerated glass cases and 40+ beers on tap that continually change. Once a keg is out, it may be replaced with something completely different. Very cool place that doesn't even serve food, they focus on nothing but the beer.

Rockford, Illinois-area brewpubs worth checking out: Carlyle Brewing Company and PigMinds Brewing. Amazing, amazing beers with really tasty pub food. Also, be sure to swing through The Olympic Tavern - best beer bar in Northern Illinois.

Brewpubs worth checking out in the Western Illinois area: Great River Brewing (actually located in Davenport, Iowa, just across the river). Really solid stuff.

Yes- Blue Palms does it nicely. So does Brewco in Manhattan Beach and Beachwood BBQ in Long Beach/Seal Beach, if you get the opportunity. Although new to the forum, I've always tried to pass on places that have solid tap lists to friends. Apex was unusual to me in that it's tap list is phenomenal and had rare, highly desirable beers, several on nitro. They don't serve food but there were a couple nice places across the street where you could bring the food to Apex. Prices of tap offerings there were quite a bit less expensive that what I'm used to paying in the South Bay, which was an added plus.

I've been to ITap, and am counting down the minutes to their vertical tasting of BCBS 11,12,13,14. That being said, I do have to admit that I am extremely jealous of that tap list. I don't think I would make it out of there alive.

It's definitely near impossible to make even a dent in their listing. Even on repeat visits. Plus it always keeps changing, AHHHH way to take all my money Itap!!!

Didn't realize Apex had installed a brewhouse. especially since they'll be moving in less than a couple years.

If you're ever in the Baltimore area, Maxs Taphouse is a must! They have about 100 beers on tap plus a bottle list. Awesome environment and staff too.

I think the mods should change the title of the thread to "Beer Bar" not Brewpub.

Oh well. Also I think its hilarious that one guy said the prices made him sad for himself in MA. Apex is notorious for being one the most expensive bars in PDX. Can't deny the taplist though.

I like to stop at beer bars and brewpubs when I travel.

I have not found a beer bar/bottleshop as good as this place- Vintage Estates Wine and beer in Boardman,)H. 1200+ bottles and 28 taps. The staff will let you know how long stuff has been sitting too. They have a limited food menu- mostly flatbreads. Luckily My in-laws live <5 miles from here.

They have a sister restaurant down the street with 40 taps if you want dinner before or after beer shopping.

When I was in VT over the summer these 2 places were pretty good

For real? I find these prices way more reasonable than in Mass...a pint of Pivo Pils for 4 bucks! (Less than a bud light in Boston)
