Noting an "in-person" trade - why?

On some profile pages, I see where someone will list their completed trades, and they denote the ones that were made in person. Any reason why? Is it a more/less "legitimate" trade, or is there some other reason to make that notation? Just curious.

The benefit that I can see is that it lets people know that the person cannot comment on topics like the traders packing skills or ability to ship on time that may be important when checking trade references.

I list both because it shows follow-through, and those folks can also comment on my communication, doing what I say I'm going to do, extras, etc. just another level of validation, I guess.

This is exactly why I list it. It people are looking for references, they want to make sure the other person won't screw them, can pack well, and ship on time. I cant verify any of that info, in IP.

If i set up a trade with someone who had only completed in person trades I would have them ship first.

Also it just shows ahead of time that the person may be willing to do it. I ahve encountered a few who are not interested in IP for what ever reason.

My trade partner list isn't just for you. I want to keep track of the people I've traded with as well

I list all the people I have traded with, there might be a person or two who have slipped through the cracks, but I feel it best to show all the people whom I have traded, shows that all those people are upstanding and that I vouch for all of them.

I've done a couple of IP trades when visiting new places or when people are coming through where I live, it's a fun way to trade locals for locals. I like listing them on my profile to show that I haven't been murdered by those traders and that their not creepy BA's in real life  But really, I like to keep track of who I've traded with and to know which of my fellow BA's are open to meeting in person.

This... No other reason to differentiate for future traders imo.
