tried another random little brewery on a pass through the bay recently and was again pleasantly surprised. Novel Brewing on San Pablo makes a nice little spread of styles, their mexican style lager was one of the best I've had in that style. Insanely crisp and fresh and well balanced. Their IPAs won't knock any socks off (if anyone still has their socks on in IPAland) but they are nice, drinkable, tasty beers. And the berliner weisse was brewed with raspberry but was a welcome respite from the pursuit of pucker that so many brewers seem invested in. All in all, a brewery that really seems to put out uniformly well balanced brews. They also had a couple belgians on, a quad and a dubbel, but they were a bit bigger than I wanted to try.
