So i brewed this up last thursday in a new wide mouth big bubbler one gallon primary fermenter. And it was very active fermenting the next morning, it was bubbling over the airlock, so i screwed off the lid and cleaned it up with sanitizer, screwed it back on and put on a hose. The next morning checked it again and almost all fermenting had ceased. So it was maybe 3 days of fermenting and now a week later there is nothing for bubbles. Is this normal for a porter? 2-4 days of heavy fermenting then it completely dropped off?
    Thanks newbie3

Sounds to me like it was a perfect fermentation. However, don't go by air bubbles; use your hydrometer to determine when fermentation is complete before you package it. I'd give it another week to allow the yeast to clean up after themselves and then take a couple gravity readings over a 2-3 day period to see if you hit your target FG and to confirm that fermentation is done.

Totally fine. Air lock activity doesn't mean beans.
