It's basically comprised of two separate streams: - venue owner/employee reporting i.e. the "official" list, and - Untappd check-in aggregation. The former is limited by how often employee/owners log on to update the taplists (must be an owner/employee to register). The latter is limited by the vagaries of human behaviour - e.g. some checkins are made a day or more after consumption, people accidentally select the wrong venue, deliberate trolling etc. Overall it's a very simple and effective resource which I'm surprised took until now for someone to build. Don't get the iphone app version - it's buggy as shit.
