New here in NC today, can dated best by 5-27, anyone know when these were canned? I've never had it fresh, and I don't like what I've had that I suppose was over 3 months old. Can't remember when this was released.

You have Nugget Nectar cans that have a best by date? All my cans have canning dates (1/16 and 1/27 respectively). The bottles also have a bottled on date, not best by. I would suspect perhaps it says 1/27 instead of 5/27?

Yeah NC here also, mine says 1/27. The ink was really thick and smudged though. On a side note this was my first time having NN and it blew my mind. What a juicy and delicious beer. I wish it were year round.

My cans have a best buy date 5/27 on the package too.....FWIW

Maybe there is a date on the cans themselves? I haven't looked yet.

There is no way it's 3 months old. It was brewed sometime in January. See this thread in the Mid-Atlantic sub-forum:

I have a case of Nugget Nectar bottles: bottled on 12/29/14 and the case states best by 4/29/15. That means a 4 month best by timeframe.

    Cheers!

I haven't seen any cans in the triangle. I bought a case of bottles yesterday that were dated 1/29. Where did you find the cans?

Cans are at Bestway and I assume Total Wine. So if it's a 4 month best by dated 5/27 that would put it at roughly an end of Jan canning making it a week old or so? Could it be that fresh?

I would assume that if the cans came in yesterday with the bottles, the dates should be similar. As I said, my bottles are only 6 days old, so they should be about the same.

The reason they did a staggered release was so they could put the freshest possible product in each market.

I picked up a case of cans in Maryland January 29th or 30th. Has a best buy date of 5/15 on the 4 pack holders and the cans say canned on 1/15 So yes 4 months. And man I need another case already. Drinking so good right now. Great beer

There is. Mine has a "freshest by 5/27" on the box but 1/27 "canned on" on the can.

I don't see why not. Assuming it was shipped from the brewery within a day or two of packaging, there's no reason it couldn't be on shelves down that way within a week.

What did you pay? I read that 4-packs are going for $12.99 and 6-packs for $15.99 in NC.

    Roughly $10.60 cans, $13.99 bottles I believe.

There should be a date it was canned on, on the bottom of your cans. Do you see a 5/27 on the packaging? If so, I suspect you'll see a 1/27 on the bottom of the cans.

Never had this one fresh before, I'll grab a 4 pk and give it a go.

I get a case of bottles every year. For me the sweet spot is between 2 and 6 weeks, so I'd recommend not drinking them all within a few days, but spreading them out over a few weeks.

Yes, it could. Yesterday, February 3rd, I picked up a 6-pack bottled on January 29th.

And from what I remember, I also think the sweet spot for NN is around 3 weeks or so.
