I was planning on doing a Nuggetzilla single hop IPA today but haven't found much info on this hop. I did a search here and only turned up one real mention of it, and that was that this hop is underwhelming. Anyone else have experience with it? Is it worthwhile to do a single hop of this, or would I be better off using something else?

Generally, it's safer to pair a new hop with one you trust. Experimental hops or hops that recently cleared experimental status can be a crap shoot in terms of results.

Pick a hop that compliments the descriptors of the new hop. My test run format for a new hop is 2oz at 10 minutes and a 2oz dry hop plus a similar amount of a familiar hop used wherever it works well.

Quick update for anyone interested in this hop. I often see questions like this one on homebrewing forums but in many cases there's no update noting how things turned out. Anyway, this hop has been described as tasting like "Juicy Fruit", and that's how this one tastes, just like Juicy Fruit gum. Is this a good thing? I guess if you love Juicy Fruit gum it is. I don't hate it, and also don't love it. Might work well in a hoppy saison or paired with a variety of other hops.

Thanks for posting this! Sounds like it might work well with Centennial, which some folks describe as having "Juicy Fruit" character.

Here is a lengthy review of it's use in a single hop beer:

    http://brulosophy.com/2016/02/25/the-hop-chronicles-denali-aka-hopsteiner-06277/

From the article regarding Denali aka Nuggetzilla:
"From the first sip to the end of the bottle, I experienced the hop character imparted by Denali as nothing short of remarkable, chock full of juicy fresh fruit layered with whispers of pineapple and zesty citrus."

I personally have used this hop for dry hopping on my house Franconian lager and my experiences match up with their descriptions.
