That is an import price, 3F is perfectly priced in Belgium.

Most I paid for a beer was $80 for a 2009 Bruery Papier on Ebay

Although, if I could get my hands on Black Damnation V for under $200, I'd do it.

And that is in the more populated central areas of the country.Taxation and distribution and pricing will increase as you spread east or west. That case of Bud in Ontario is $50+tax here on the coast. And a bottle of Sailor Jerry's is $44+taxes

Numb to beer prices, no but $21(with the $8 deposit) growlers $16 local/craft 6 packs and $26 for a BMC 12 pack, 1 can of shock top is $4.
The prices we pay for the privilege to consume alcohol has been beaten into us and now we just accept it as how things work. That is until you travel and you see what the neighbors are paying for their selection.

Honestly though I'd pay a good amount to try it but like eclipse.....30 bucks for a bottle gets me a lil but I think I'm gonna pull the trigger....on the west coast, they got great beer bars with great older selections, I'd pay even higher.....but if it wasn't mind blowing I just won't do it again....it's all subjective......drink and pay for what you believe in....

It depends where you live on what can be shipped to you. I've dealt with a shop in San Fran for a while now, he ships beers for $25 for 6, $35 for 12(anywhere in the US). Usually relatively reasonably priced, and he always has Pliny for $7 a bottle, though he makes you buy a non-RR beer for every bottle you buy(and limits it to 2 or 3 bottles on top of that). PM me and I'll send you the info, it's a very easy process and a good way to try some west coast beers you can't get in your area.

You probably should mention that it's also not likely to be legal.

I've never seen Fresh Squeezed for less than 7.99. Or any bomber actually. Unless it's something that has been sitting around forever and it's on sale. Your lucky.

    Why is that?

There are online retailers that ship to other states legally

Yeah. Just buy a few bottles online. Some shops make you pair it with other beers, but you'll be saving $23 a bottle that way.

Which cheap-O city is that? I've seen Bud Light for $9+ in Georgetown. And don't get me started on the ballparks or at Disney!

Should only be $9-10 for a 4-pack. I'd pay $2.99 tops for a single bottle. Granted, you aren't breaking the bank at $5, but if you want more than one just find someone to trade you a 4-pack for something local. Put the $10 you save toward shipping.

I kicked cigarettes a year ago so ... (I could give a bat's ass how much my beer costs)
That said, it's a fairly rare treat for me to spend over 9 bucks on a 6.
I try to shop around for something around $7.99.

As I've bought more and more beer and learned more about the industry, I feel like I've actually become a lot more cognizant of pricing (full disclosure, I'm 23 and have pretty limited disposable income). Will I spend over $20 on a bomber? Sometimes, yes, because I understand that a Brett ale stored in oak barrels for 15 months is expensive for a small brewery to produce, and I like to try things like that from time to time. Overall, though, I look more at performance in relation to price point and make purchases based on value. This is why I will gravitate more towards purchasing a Lagunitas, Sixpoint, or Victory over an Allagash more often than not. Do I love Allagash? Yes and they produce some awesome, top quality beers. But in a maturing industry, I can buy something that is both equally as good and much friendlier on my wallet. Going forward, I just think it's going to become more difficult for American craft breweries to justify pricing a 22 oz bottle at $25-$30 a pop and expecting consumers to pay it. Of course, there are plenty of exceptions to these thoughts!
