    Hey OP,
Did your palette return to normal? I'm experiencing the same thing and I'm going to try a reset.

Had this happen to me, viewed a few other forms and some say to stay away from hoppy beers for about a month or so, I did this and switched to trying stouts, weird thing was I never liked stouts until I experienced numbness from hops, mine did return to normal after a month or so

Yes this has happened to me also. I think it's a kind of fatigue. Like you love your grandmother's lasagna, once wice maybe even three times, but not every day right? Same kind of idea. I would switch off between styles and between the ipa's themslevs. Have some english ipa's, right now it's octoberfest and pumpkin beer, so there's lots of those to throw into the rotation too.

Thats why you got to switch it up man, God gave us all these types of beers to enjoy so party on with your stouts, porters, heffes, barley wines, pumpkin ales, pumpkin stouts, and lagers.

I heard on a podcast that the lifespan of a taste bud is 10 days, so I'm going to go at least 10 days without any hoppy beers.

Me three. Experiencing that right now. It happens probably 3 times a year. I move on to stouts for a couple weeks then come back...

I notice I drink one style predominately for a period of time, grow a little tired of it, and then take a break from it. In the past 2 or 3 months it seems like I've gone IPAs --> Belgians --> Stouts/porters... and I'm starting to feel the tradition back into IPAs now.

I posted something similar to the OP and took the hold the hop advice.

I went a week without any IPA's or DIPA's and it works to reset everything. Since then I have been exploring other styles (stouts, sours) and this works to keep your palette "ready" for the occasional IPA. When I have a IPA every now and then the hop is more prevalent. I also had some older IPA's. I use to not be able to tell when the hops faded. I will not pick up IPA's unless I know I can drink them with in a week or so.

Drink some lagers and sours. That should bring your taste buds back to normal.

I miss the days where I actually enjoyed IPAs.. Very few excite me anymore.
