Staff did as good of a job as they could have, given the circumstances. Place got pretty damn packed for a while there.

Sweet! Except for all the food related issues they just encountered:grimacing: Doesn't effect the tap lines though:wink::grinning:
I will let you know next time I am in town. Wifey worked in Granville for 11 years, and my in -laws live in Newark. I am no stranger. Speaking of, if Hi Res cans dont show up soon I will be there any day!

Event seemed well organized but they really need to do something about the kegs next time. Had tickets for session 2. Showed up at 2:45 with a 3:00 reservation. Seated immediately and ordered 2 snifters of Nutsmasher promptly at 2:59. 25 minutes later, server returned empty handed to inform us the keg had kicked. Meanwhile, there's bearded bros walking around with 2 and 3 beers each. Not cool, they either need to brew more or limit to one beer per person at a time. We were also informed that people had "pre-ordered" glasses prior to the 3:00 tapping so those were served first. Huge bummer! Otherwise, food was quick and tasty and the guest brews were solid.

Has anyone else stopped at that antique store that shares a parking lot with Willoughby Brewing? We went in there to kill some time since we got there before session 2. Really cool shop.

I also agree that the release was super smooth. In and out in 10 minutes.

Would seem reasonable and little downside to ticketing draft pours too. Still a nice improvement.

Very nice run event. Nut Smasher on draft was on point, but agree that more would be nice. The service was great and the gust taps were good from what I tried. The Cask BDA was pretty harsh tho.

If you want to compare, I have a bottle of Peanut Butter Holy Cacao from Eudora if you want a little side by side action

I ordered a Nut Smasher as soon as I got there around 11:10 and didn't have a problem. The gf liked it quite a bit so I asked our server for another one and he said there was a 1 pour limit. I don't know if he thought I was bullshitting him when I said it was for my gf, but he still got it. Anyway, at least some servers were being responsible for trying to limit the pours of Nut Smasher.

I had a great time, just wish I felt a little better, but I had a party Saturday night so I was a bit out of it. Also, someone mentioned the BDA stout on cask...the one I had tasted like a raspberry truffle...there was no heat at all so I don't know if they had another one for the second session or what.

Well run event, Nut Smasher was delicious, the other guest beers on tap were tasty, and good food. I can't fathom how anyone can lob complaints here.

I didn't stick around for any draft pours or food, but from what I can tell the event was very well done. I just stopped in and my girlfriend and I grabbed our four bottles and left after talking with some friends. I am a fan of these ticketed events, for sure! There was absolutely no wait at all to grab my bottles and my 'free' nutsmasher glassware with the $5 vouchers.

Cracked open a bottle when we got home... Nut Smasher was drinking really, really nice. Still the best peanut butter beer I have had, no contest. So many can be artificial and "powdery" tasting (PB2...), but NS is really well done. Glad I was able to get a few bottles.

Next year, I will try to plan to stick around more... Would have this year if it wasn't for being at Fat Head's 4hrs on Friday when Juicy hit. (Cleveland problems...I know!).

It wasn't a draft release, it was a bottle release with 2 kegs on draft - this batch was short on draft b/c they filled barrels. Sorry you didn't get any but the kegs were what they were - an extra treat that was sure to run out early. They will have more draft for future releases, they literally had the 2 kegs this time - no keg for Winter Warmer, no kegs for other special events.

was a great day, and a great event.

I feel bad for the wait staff and the people that didn't get pours.. they were cranking as hard as they could. I was at the bar watching the tap for the 3:00.. they must have had 50-75 pre poured, it was literally pouring as fast as gravity allowed. the 3:00 keg lasted 18 minutes.

it is pretty cool as a business to know, within reason, they could sell as much as they want to make of it.

I feel like I've learned a valuable lesson years ago at the Fat Heads Celebration of the Hop festival, but if there is a beer event with two sessions, the first session is always going to be smoother with more beer available on draft (or at least for a longer time). I think the first keg of Nut Smasher lasted over an hour compared to 18 minutes for the second keg.

The event was awesome. Beer and food were great. My server was amazjng. I let her know when we first got there not to stress over our pours and food as I knew it would be busy and I left her a fat tip for her hard work. Anyone dogging the staff should be ashamed of themselves. You try running for multiple hours with food and drinks for a packed house and see how well you do! It was a great day all around and look forward to the next one!

I do feel bad for those who didn't get a pour. I originally was going to get. A pour for myself and my wife so I could have two but decided that would be pour form and waited an hour to order a second pour to give everyone a chance to get one. Ordering 2 or 3 at a time so you could double or triple fist is poor form but it happens at all these events. Not the bars fault on that, the general public is what it is.

The first half was the raspberry and vanilla. The 3:00 menu had Mexican peppers, chocolate, and vanilla version. I couldn't finish a 4 oz pour of it.

I actually liked it. Thinner than I would've preferred, but still nice.

The first cask BDA was great, it tasted like a chocolate covered raspberries. The second reminded me of Prairie Bomb but even worse.

The session one BDA was one of the hardest beers I've ever tried to choke down. I think I got maybe 2 sips in from my tatster. I also thought Big Lushious was awful FWIW and they are similar beers.
