Need to hit IKEA in Conshohocken and thinking of following it up with a tour of some breweries in the area I haven't been to. Conshohocken, Earth, Barren Hill, and up to Forest & Main if I'm still up for it (been to Manayunk before or else it'd be an option). Anyone done something likewise in that area? Looks too far to walk, is it reasonably easy to get around by bus or not worth the trouble? How is parking at each of those? Thanks!

Both Barren Hill and Forest & Main make excellent beers. I have no idea about bus routes. Barren Hill has a parking lot. Forest & Main is street parking.

I have yet to make it to Earth Bread Brewery but my readings indicates they make excellent beer.

Conshohocken just opened a couple of weeks ago. I had one of their beers (Black IPA) at the Yards cask festival and that beer was of high quality. I have not visited the brewery yet.

    Cheers!

Yeah, they opened 48 hours after our previous IKEA trip or I'd have gone then :slight_frown:. I'll get 'em this time! Thanks for the tips.

I like Earth a lot. Not as good as Tired Hands, but I'm a fan. Parking's pretty easy there, on-street or in the lot on the same block. Current tap list here. There's also Iron Hill in Chestnut Hill, which has a couple decent beers.

If you ever find your way out of the maze that is Ikea there are a couple of decent bottle shops in the area. The Boathouse in Conshy opened a pretty nice take out shop. Also Capones in Norristown is a short drive from Ikea. Walking is not an option and taking the bus may be a total bitch. Tired Hands isn't too far off and never disappoints.

Go to Forestnand Main last because if you go there first, you will decide to bag the rest of your tour. Great place, great beers.

Forest and Main is doing a bottle release today at 4pm. Expect it to be crowded. That may sway you decision on going there today.
