I agree. We just see sadly a certain way of responding online that views situations like this as not being a problem. For example, the response to the situation in the Melvin thread over the in the mountain forum is very different than ours.

They epitomize "bro culture" and are currently trying to distance themselves from it, brought on by backlash from consumers, and industry folks alike.

Ha....damn...my bad. My response stemmed from people trying to just brush this under the rug. My apologies to you!

Please don’t take the opinions/responses of a few people as a consensus on how we all feel. Just like many other people in this forum, the Mountain forum and all across the craft beer industry, we would like some kind of response/answers on this issue from @flyone and/or @MelvinBrewing_2x4 Assuming, one of these gents isn’t the accused...

That shouldn't make any difference. I always have a twinkle in my eye. :sunglasses:

Just to put a bow on the topic, the local college paper finally got on the story, and, surprisingly enough, named names: http://www.westernfrontonline.com/2...h-over-bro-culture-sexual-assault-accusation/

Please keep in mind that this is from the school up the hill, and the reporters are students. The WF tends to play things close to the vest, so if the supervising staff was comfortable with posting this.....

Yikes! Looks like the person in charge of their web presence is just as guilty as the offender. Talk about being insensitive. I'm crossing off Melvin Brewing from our brewery tour list.

I just saw a note on Facebook from Day One Distribution that Chuckanut Kölsch and Pilsner bottles should be "popping up around Oregon late next week" in what they're calling "a very special shipment."

I hope this is a sign that Chuckanut will be available down here on a reliable basis in the future. Their beers are outstanding.

Day One is who we also use for Oregon distribution. The last time I brought beer down there it sounded like Chuckanut was planning on potentially doing quarterly shipments, based on conversations I had with the Day One crew.

That sounds like the arrangement which brings beers from Albuquerque's Marble Brewery to Portland.

That's pretty awesome. We don't get Chuckanut bottles in Seattle, those are Bellingham only.

And even then, mostly brewery only.

Huge huge fan of Chuckanut! Even though Oregon has a few German style focused brewers, I really think Chuckanut will be a big hit in Oregon.

I regularly make the trip up to Burlington (Port of Skagit) to grab fresh bottles of Chuckanut. Their newer outpost is rarely crowded most of the time. Depending on traffic, usually an hour or so depending on time of day from Seattle. At $4.00 per bottle for most selections, it's a good deal.

Stop by Skookum along the way for a truly great beer run!

Plus, if you go to South Nut on a Friday, you can grab a draft at Cardinal Craft Brewing, right around the corner. It's the tap room for the Skagit Valley College brewing program, so you get to try brews from future rock star brewers!

Then stroll across the street to Flyers, grab a bite to eat, and a beer, and watch the planes come and go. Hell, at that point, you're only a few minutes away from A-Town, so you could swing by Anacortes and Bastion.

Then, you could stop at North Sound (who, BTW, won Peoples Choice voting both sessions at Cask Fest last weekend). That area of Skagit is worth a look if you're wanting to get out of the city for a quick overnighter. Mount Vernon has fun little downtown, LaConner still has the arts, and Deception Pass is right at hand.

Other than their pils, what do you think will be a big hit here?

As recently as 3 or 4 years ago, I would have looked forward to seeing Chuchanut pils with eager anticipation. However, between pFriem and Upright, and the occasional Wayfinder pils, I feel as if my domestic pils needs are pretty much taken care of these days. I still order Chuckanut pils whenever I see it up in the Tacoma area, but I'm not sure how much I would order it if it suddenly became available in PDX.
