    Hi Guys,

I am coming into NYC tomorrow on a bus tour with my wife and mother-in-law. They are interested in the Christmas stuff, but I am in it for the beer shopping. I unfortunately wont be able to make it out to Finback for their release, or go to Other Half for their 2 stouts.(not a big fan of rum or red wine) Do you think I will have any luck finding Light year cans, FW XX, BCBW or any other great NYC beer in Midtown or south of there? I am planning on hitting Top Hops, WF Bowery (maybe CC) and a few others if possible. I am also kicking around the idea of heading out to Singlecut, but it might be too long of a ride/walk to get 2 - 4 packs. We are going to stop out for a beverage or three after dinner, but I would love to bring a few beers back with me to Elmira. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!

    Cheers

Haymaker is a midtown bar and has last weeks Other Half cans. 2 per person takeout. Also, Three's in Brooklyn is a 30 minute subway ride and has a retail store upstairs with a good local selection. KCBC is releasing cans tomorrow and is an easy subway ride to Brooklyn and if you are in the KCBC area, Interboro is right there but cans are sold out. Enjoy your time here.

If you are looking to kill some time without the wife and mother in law, LIC Beer Project is a 10 minute subway ride from midtown but again, no cans available.

Beer Culture in Hell's Kitchen has a nice to-go selection where you can usually find some SingleCut bottles for reasonable prices. The local stuff (OH, Finback) can be hard to get in stores, but if you can bring a growler with you, try Milk and Hops (either Astor or Chelsea). They have great beer on tap, and good to-go selections too.

Echoing the above, but if WF CC, remember many of the local beers are behind the taps (but priced to-go), although tons of great stuff also out on the floor...Heady Topper cans are everywhere in the city, on site only but quite a treat (beermenus has info...)

Thank you very much guys!! I really appreciate it. We're heading down now. I'm already ready to get off this damn bus. Ha! Too much patchouli oil and lifetime movies. Hope the beer gods smile upon me today.

    How did it go?

I'm assuming you mean a big charter bus. How much beer did you bring back? How did you keep it safe underneath the bus in the cargo hold? I've toyed with this idea myself, and although the trip back will be much longer (more potential for damage), I really like the idea of heading up some Saturday and spending a good 10+ hours drinking beer in the city and bringing beer back home.

Any info is greatly appreciated! (Sorry to hijack your thread. Hope you scored a worthwhile haul. I'm sure the trip itself was fantastic.)
