Unexpectedly, I have a free day in NYC tomorrow. I'm going to hit OH, but the other thing I would like to do is visit a really great bottle shop. Somewhere I could potentially find barrel aged saisons and barleywines. In Brooklyn or Manhattan. Where should I be going?

If you're going to OH's Centre Street location, Queue Beer is around the corner. I haven't been since dad life makes it tough getting from upper Manhattan to Brooklyn these days, but I hear they have a pretty great selection.

If you go to the Rockefeller Center location, City Beer isn't too far and always has good stuff. They also put their can/bottle list on Untappd so you can actually see their to-go selection and not just drafts, and it seems they have a few Barleywines both English and American, and about a dozen saisons, including a few from Jester King.

209 Station is a small but well curated store right by an F and G stop. 3 stops past OH Centre street. They have a list of available cans and bottles online. Overall a little pricey. They have Cantillon St. Lam bottles currently. Heady, Focal, bunch of trillium and a good selection of saison.

Definitely stop at Queue if you go to Centre Street OH. Order a Canal Champagne off the side pour. It’s a taproom but they sell cans and bottles to go for a reasonable price.

Covenhoven and Hops Hill have good selection of to go beer. Both taprooms with to go.
