NYC DIPA's

    Hi,
    So I am curious what good DIPA's are available in NYC that people have seen/tried/recommend.

    Of course there is SixPoint's Hi-Res, SN Hoptical Illusion, Oskar Blue's Deviant Dave, Victory's Dirtwolf, Lagunita's beers, and last night I tried Uinta's Detour, which I wasn't too crazy about.

    Go local. Peekskill Higher Standard is awesome. Other Half making some great stuff too.

    Outside the "easier to find" DIPA's like you've mentioned, the best I've had so far are:

    Peekskill Higher Standard
    Barrier Daddy Warbucks
    Barrier Money

    I would also say Kane's Over Head in NJ is also amazing. If you're willing to drop the ABV to include single IPA's and/or hoppy pale ales, Peekskill, Other Half and Kane also make some other great ones in:

    Peekskills Amazeballs
    Peekskills Eaastern Standard
    Peekskills Lower Standard
    Other Half Citra (can't speak to them but others say they have another 3-4 great IPA's)
    Kane's Head High IPA

    I am presuming you are looking for those available in NYC but not everywhere. With that in mind, try these:

    Capt. Lawrence Reserve Imperial IPA
    Captain Lawrence Seeking Alpha
    Carton 077-07006
    Sixpoint Resin
    Rushing Duck War Elephant DIPA - probably not available in NYC, but if you come north, it is.
    Southern Tier 2X IPA
    Stoudt's Double IPA

    As mentioned earlier, look for more local stuff (only avail on draft) from these breweries:

    Barrier
    Peekskill
    Other Half

    Just an FYI, the Carton beer is great but you probably mean 077XX.

    I forget the story exactly, but I believe 077-07006 has to do with a different hop strain and was only for 1 specific location, and I think they do a one-off series every year called 077-whatever zip code the bar they are doing the event is in, specifically for that bar. Monmouth County (where Carton is) town's mostly begin with 077, hence the 077XX.

    Yeah those series of 077 variants all use a different hop. And they make them for their bus tour that they do every year. They stop at the bars that were the first ones to put them on tap when they first started. 006 is for the Cloverleaf and uses Sorachi Ace.

    just a little heads up in about 15 minutes i will announce on our twitter and mailing list that Dub cans will be available at the brewery starting tonight at 5pm its 12$ a 4 pack limited to a case a person till we see how it sorts out. let me know what you think
