I believe when they first opened Dogfish was brewing the cask ales down in Delaware. But nowadays they brew there.

Here's a crazy tidbit - Russian River was the original partner for Birreria. That would have been interesting!

The Russian River notion is interesting. I tagged you in case you knew of any other commercial breweries making beer in Manhattan.

No not that I know of. I think Birreria is the only one atm.

The Russian River information is really saddening actually. If only.

There are actually two currently brewing beer in Manhattan -- Birreria, and Paulaner on the Bowery. @zid

Ah! Thanks for that. It's amazing how much that place is "forgotten" around here. I've never been there, have you? When it first opened, there were some negative reactions. Then the place closed for a bit, was remodeled, and the food was given some attention. No mention of the beer. Would love to hear some recent reactions.

I think it tends to be forgotten because it's a worldwide chain, not a local NYC brewery. Kind of like how no one goes to World Of Beer.

While on the topic of NYC breweries, we're excited to be participating in Beer Week's Opening Bash Cruises on 2/20. We'll be pouring our latest IPA, Fogdog, which showcases Lemon Drop, Wakatu and Citra (Banter in Williamsburg is likely tapping the first keg this Friday, and it should start hitting other accounts sometime next week).

Hope to see some of you there!

Unfortunately we weren't able to package a ton of this beer so any stores that got it in probably only got a case. I know Dave at Good Beer got some in a few days ago; not sure if he still has cans. Good luck; hope you're able to grab some!
