I'm heading NYC the first week of March, staying in Brooklyn. Looking for suggestions for beer places (breweries/bars) to go and visit. One place I have in mind is otherhalf brewery. Any other ideas?
Lots of place around there: https://mapsengine.google.com/map/u/0/viewer?mid=zwC6ezBHVgzI.kyMuRsydhsSU If you plan to go to Other Half, then I suggest afterwards to walk up 4th Ave and hit up Mission Delores, Threes Brewing, Pacific Standard, and 4th Ave Pub. A little closer to BK Heights you can try Great Bar Harry. http://bedstuybeerguy.com/portfolio/nyc-craft-beer-bar-restaurant-store-brewery-and-brew-shop-list/
The bar up on the roof at Whole Foods on 3rd Avenue and 3rd Street in Gowanus is worth a visit too (Hopslam on tap on Saturday). Great job on the map! I happen to live in a craft beer desert, aka Bensonhurst. Yes, we have no bars but we do have 2 decent stores, for possible inclusion: 84th Street Beverage at 18th Avenue and 84th Street: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/23048/?view=ratings And then a place that is not on Beer Advocate but does have a good beer selection (and a humidor/smoking room if you are so inclined): Smokestax II Inc 6607 18th Ave Brooklyn, NY 11204-4315
Is there such an awesome map for Manhattan? Seems like there are not nearly as many sexy breweries there.
No breweries in Manhattan now that 508 and Chelsea brewing are closed. Some contract brewers have offices in Manhattan, but don't brew beer there.
Oh Paulaner reopened? I thought they were done. And can't believe I forgot La Birreria, esp since I'm going there for an Other Half dinner this Sunday.
Yeah they remodeled it and I think it gave the place a much better vibe. The people who run Edi and the Wolf took it over. I really enjoyed it.
