NYC is the city that never sleeps. I know the Grand Delancey is open until 1AM. The Jeffrey also appears to be open until 1AM too.

    Agree with @EDNOSE
Getting in at that time, The Jeffrey is probably perfect. Even on a Saturday if you get there between 11 and midnight, I don’t think they’ll be much of a crowd. Definitely bring your vaxx card too because you won’t be allowed into anything without it.

I've been in Brooklyn/Manhattan for about a week, and here are my thoughts. In order of eagerness to visit again.

#1: The Grand Delancey is awesome. I am going back tonight.
#2: Grimm is awesome. I tried a lambic, NEIPA, and lager, and all three were excellent. I am going back tomorrow.
#3: St. Gambrinus Beer Shoppe in Brooklyn is great.
#4: Good Beer NYC is great. And the taco joint just down the block is, too.
#5: Other Half makes great beer, but it's almost all moving in the direction of NE IPA. If that's your jam, visit one of their locations. There are two, I think.
#6. Blind Tiger was nice. I enjoyed it.
#7. KCBC was also good. But I was pretty far gone and in a good mood when I visited. Might be back tomorrow with less inebriated reporting. It's close to Grimm.
#8. Coney Island brewing was pretty solid. Not excellent, but good at least across a couple basic styles.
    #9. McSorley's is a unique experience.

    Less positive:
    • Folksbier did not impress me. I wanted them to. They're supposed to have good lagers, but had none available when I visited yesterday. The location and the vibe are really cool. I would revisit if I could verify they had things I wanted to try.
    • Evil Twin is Evil Twin. They make good beer, though they're gimmicky as hell.
    • I was not impressed with Interboro. Not terrible, but not impressed.

Lol, depending on how desperate he is to go out you can find a neighborhood dive spot easily until 4, some gems out there as I’m sure you know. He could always, hopefully, get lucky at a bodega that has a good selection, buy a few brews on the way back to his hotel.

I miss going to Good Beer. That’s an awesome place with people who care about beer there who are fun to bullshit with.

Damn, I was a week too early! Glad to hear they are reopening though. Going to have to plan another NYC day in the near future I guess.

You guys are awesome. We booked the hotel and should be in NYC by 10 unless we stop at Treehouse on the way for a few min ha

Both will have vaxx cards with us to make sure we can get in to all spots.

Someone mentioned above but is it always a long or tough trek getting from Manhattan to Brooklyn?

    thanks!

No, the subway isn't terrible. Not super fast, but I've been back and forth several times. Subway is my recommendation.

Not a bad ride on train to Brooklyn. I think the B or D from the area you’re staying can get you to where Wild East etc is in just over a half hour

Ok glad to hear. We’re not in any rush but certainly want to get in as much as we can Sunday.

Plan is to hit Jeffreys when we get there. Closes at 12am per their page so will play it by ear.

Also, we’re huge Cold Brew lovers. Any truly great coffee shop recommendations welcome

It sounds like you only really have one day to do much of anything beer related. Personally, I wouldn't try to cram too many spots into it (but others here would take the opposite approach). I would not say that going from Manhattan to Brooklyn is long or tough... but I wouldn't try to visit places in lots of different neighborhoods.

I second Beer Culture having visited them my last trip to the Broadway area in 2019. Perfect no frills bar for a few Happy Hour beers if you only have an hour before the show, they are a stone's throw from a lot of theaters.

Edit: And I did not remember food there, either. Just a nice atmosphere and good servers.

Bit north of Jeffries is Cityswiggers, which is a bottle shop with usually 10-12 eclectic beers on tap.

A block away from there is Bondurants (85th and 2nd Avenue maybe) that has good food and a very solid tap list.

Do you remember what time RnH closed? Man so many memories of stumbling out of there at some God awful time, grabbing a greasy container of halal food outside of GCT, and hopping on the train home.

Oh, definitely late. I think they were a “we’re staying open as long as there’s people here” kinda place. Yeah, I got a lot of great memories from that place. A lot of drunken train rides home for sure haha.

There are a couple Blue Bottle locations around you, though maybe they've expanded so much that that's old news. I work in the area and enjoy Culture Espresso.

Sey would be my pick for the best coffee in NYC but its a bit out of the way although not too far from Grimm/KCBC since its right off the Morgan Ave L stop.

It looks like threes, finback and strong rope are all close to each other.

We’re going to start at Other Half(center st) given we can start at 11 I think most of this is doable. Would love to add in Grimm or evil twin but is that feasible?

You all have been too cool and nice helping us.

    thanks!
