Not a beer recommendation - but If you go to Coney Island, make sure you go on one of the inner moving cars of the Wonder Wheel (if you like that sort of thing). If you skip Coney Island and go to Chinatown instead, check out The Grand Delancey (a beer bar... use their menu on Untappd to see what's pouring).

GD looks very appetizing. Nice tap list. Plans are changing by the minute. For now I think were going to hit up Joe's Shanghai in Chinatown for lunch. Then catch the F line down to Brooklyn to Other Half. If were feeling energetic we may just walk the Brooklyn Bridge over to the Brooklyn side. Havent done that in years. But we short on time. Looks like Coney Island will be on Sunday after we check out.

On this Saturday Other Half has a tap takeover with Toppling Goliath and Fiden’s.
Assassin 2022 on tap. Will be super busy but definitely interesting brews available.

If you're going to Brooklyn on foot, walk the Manhattan bridge instead: no tourist crowd, and better views of both sides as well as the Brooklyn bridge. Plus the entrance is in Chinatown itself.

You can also hit Evil Twin DUMBO if you do decide to walk.

Hey all, tagging onto this thread. Headed to OH and Finback Brooklyn with a group of people. Other beer options (the group is mostly IPA drinkers) or good food places near by. Also, would either of the breweries have a food truck on the weekend?

Finback sells food out of a window in the taproom. Dumplings/etc.

Wild East is a block away and should have a food truck. They list the calendar on their social media.

Threes is right there with The Meathook serving food.

The real big brain play is to go to Lucali at 4pm-ish, put your name down, then hit any combination of Finback, Wild East, Threes, Strong Rope and OH while you wait for your table.

If you'd rather be in the Williamsburg area, you could hit Other Half Domino Park, Talea, Grimm and Interboro. Robertas is great pizza right next to OH Domino Park, Talea and Grimm also often have pop-ups.

Imo, Finback has been my favorite NE IPA in BK brewery as of late, but the Grimm/Interboro/Talea group is better than the Threes/Wild East/Finback group overall. The Double Date that Talea is serving up right now is truly exceptional.

I agree with almost all of that but I would say that Interboro's beer kind of stinks now and their taproom for sure blows. Better off trekking a bit further to get better beer and a better scene at KCBC or Non-Sequitur.

this is definitely true. Interboro is like a bit of an add-on to the experience because of its proximity to Grimm. Talea, OH Domino and Grimm makes for a great day with a variety of different brewery experiences.

Went to MSG the other night and highly recommend Haymakers before or after. We had dinner beforehand and beer and food were excellent.

MSG prices are crazy expensive! Wow. Found one primarily craft beers stand on the 100 level that kept us happy. It was primarily mass marketed stuff (Sierra product, Blue Point) but had some more local stuff, too.

I'm glad Beer Advocate is still alive. I will be heading to New Jersey for a wedding in late May. Still trying to figure out whether we will fly into JFK or Philadelphia.

Haymaker is one of my go-to spots when I stay in Midtown for work. Haven't been since before the pandemic and need to get back soon. Glad to hear it's still on point!

I miss the days when the first response to a “NYC” thread was Haymaker. Definitely one of the best spots in the city, especially for the location.

I had never been before this week but it was a really solid draft list (incl. Hill Farmstead Mary) and we really enjoyed all 4 things we ate (Deviled Eggs, Chicken Satay, Steak Sandwich and Red Chili Nachos).
