There's Queue Beer right around the corner, they always have a great taplist, but yea the next closest stuff is the Wild East/Finback/Threes/Strong Rope cluster which it sounds like you already did.

Yeah, now I remember walking right by this and being like huh, that’s interesting. But my brain going O.H,O.H,O.H,O.H,O.H,O.H! And we grabbed an uber after leaving straight to Wild East. Damnit

The other close place that is worth checking out is the Red Hook Strong Rope location. Right on the water with great views of the Statue of Liberty.
Widow Jane is there too and has a tasting room if you’re into Whiskey.
If you like cocktails. Travel Bar is right by OH/Queue and is known for having excellent cocktails and lots of hard to find spirits.

A Canal Champagne at Queue is definitely worth a stop. And their tap list is always one of the best in NYC.

Great! We had thought about doing redhook area and decided this trip we’re going back to Centre St and will do all of these recommendations. Appreciate it!

No problem. Also, couple great dive bars in Red Hook. Sunny’s and Brooklyn Ice House.
Red Hook Tavern is on most Best Burger in NYC lists if you’re looking for a restaurant option.

Jesus Christ, looking at the photos of the view at Redhook SR. How the hell did we forget about this spot. Can’t wait to see the view in early October.

Might try to squeeze a summer trip in too.

Thanks to the recommendations here, just did a couple days in Brooklyn. Stayed in Gowanus. We were there early afternoon Monday to early afternoon Wednesday. As you might guess, most places were pretty mellow early in the week.

Monday - Started at Finback. They only have full pours which is negative for me on a trip where I'm interested in tasting a bunch of things. Stayed for an IPA. Went to Wild East next and enjoyed several pours off the side-pull. Czech styles were delicious. I had snyt pours to try and pace (half foam, half beer when the pour is done). Went to an early dinner at Public Display of Affection where I had a good pizza and my buddy had a solid lamb bolognese. They had 4 beers on tap, all interesting. Then went to Brewer's Row which had a pretty good tap selection and an abundance of cans. Worked in a Nets game at the last minute as neither of us had been to Barclays and seemed like a good option to slow down. We finished the night at Threes which was pretty hopping for a Monday night. They do small pours so a good way to end the night.

Tuesday - Took the subway over to Manhattan and went to the 9/11 Museum late morning. The place is really well done and we spent 2+ hours there. Then we walked back to Brooklyn over the Brooklyn Bridge. We hadn't eaten so grabbed a pie at Grimaldis once we crossed and then hit up Evil Twin DUMBO right around the corner. The list was extremely heavy on sours when we visited but we enjoyed some short pours of a variety of things (lagers, IPAs, stouts and a sour). Fron there we walked to Other Half Domino (3.25 miles - totally safe walk if you are ever in the mood). It's Other Half so mainly enjoyed just 4 oz IPA pours here. From there we Ubered to Grimm where there was a really good variety of styles available in short pours on up to can pours of several of their lagers. We ended up stuck in trivia night based on our timing. We made the most of not winning. At this point, we hadn't eaten yet so we ubered to Torst for dinner and some really good draft and can options (Hill Farmstead Arthur and Brother Soigne, Alchemist, Weldwerks / Russian River collab and others). Food was good and hit the spot after a long day.

Wednesday - Killed time in the morning by taking the subway to Coney Island. Buddy had never been so it was more of a time killer than anything but something different to see. Ended up going to Other Half Centre as draft list was pretty different than Domino. Bartender here was great. They were canning while we were there which is always a fun watch on a small system like they have there. He gave us a couple extra cans when we closed out which was nice. Also recommended a good Thai place (Boran) in the neighborhood which made for a good ending.

It's just a real pain to get to unless you're taking an Uber, Red Hook is basically a total transit desert. The Ferry is a fun option during nice weather, and I think on weekends there's still a free one to the IKEA, but it's still a bit of a walk.

But it is probably the nicest and definitely the most scenic brewery/taproom in the city.

It’s a short walk from Centre Street or can jump on the bus from Smith / 9th.

Citibikes would work great too but the bike docks in Red Hook get crazy busy and hard to find somewhere to park it.

The ferry also works great if you’re near a stop in BK or Manhattan.

It's like 30 minutes from Smith-9th to Strong Rope Red Hook, as a native NYCer I'm totally fine doing that walk in anything but the worst weather, but I couldn't call it a short one.

30 minutes or less is literally my definition of a short walk but everyone has their own definitions.
I was just providing additional options to your Uber suggestion.

Heading back in October for the week. I assume not too much has changed. But maybe some more outdoors options in October as opposed to Feb?

I believe Eckhart, a lager brewery, opened this week. It’s way out there though in Ridgewood.

Not a huge difference but it's Bushwick, a bit closer to Manhattan than Ridgewood. Looks like it's between the Jefferson and Morgan L stops, that's pretty much the heart of Bushwick.

Anyone have recommedations in Midtown East for a good tap list and a place that will have Sunday NFL games? Staying at Westin Grand Central.

Other Half should have a game on the TV, but I think they just have one TV for sports so not like it'll be a sports bar atmosphere.

It's still midtown but a little further uptown and west, and their list used to be consistently better, but Three Monkeys does a decent job of crossing over between big sports bar with a decent number of TVs and having some solid craft beer options.

Thanks for the recs! Have been to both and agree on your assessment. Hoping to not have to go cross-town if I can avoid it.

Only other question would be some recs on places for either a lunch or dinner. And we are open to any and all spots and will look them up.

We’re going to be all over and spending a good amount of time in Brooklyn. But can grab dinner either there or maybe around LES. We may not have time to shoot back to our hotel by ROC to shower/change this trip. So may not line up any fine dining type places where we gotta be dressy. We aren’t foodie-foodies per se. So gastro pub, fusion, steak, sushi, unique works for us. Love Italian but my stomach isn’t the best, fuck you ibs. It would probably wreck me for the evening and trying to enjoy as much of the day and evening we can. The beer anlready isn’t great with me so I try to eat not to kill me ha. Essentially somewhere we can check out that we can come in our street clothes and non white table cloth. We grabbed chicken sandwiches and Hill Farmstead at Torst last trip and were pleasantly surprised, as an example. We’re pretty easy to please. And yeah, I know this is a loaded question and way too vague. Just asking for a little help.

Hey all I’ll be in manhattan this weekend. Looking for recommendations on places doing any Oktoberfest stuff. Would love to find a spot where I could have some half liters of imported German oktoberfests.

Any recommendations on places with cask ale are also appreciated.

Last but not least, places to find some decent taps near china town. Looking for a beer or two with friends before we go to Uncle Lou’s!

    Thanks as always!

If you’re going to be near the Gowanus breweries (Wild East etc.) I recommend these food options based on the description you provided of what you are looking for.
    Bar food - Gowanus Gardens
Sit Down - Baba’s Pierogies, Petite Dumpling, Public Display of Affection, Palo Santo (fanciest of the bunch but still meets your needs)
Take out - Wangs, 7th Street Burger
If you have a specific food type you want a recommendation for or another neighborhood let me know.
