I will be spending the next week in Manhattan and I can't wait to expand my beer horizons. I won't have a lot of flexibility in terms of visiting places because my schedule is planned for me. Any recommendations for local brewers, beer, or things that I could pick up to enjoy in my hotel room would be greatly appreciated.

We will be staying at the Hampton Inn Times Square - 337 W 39 Street. I have never been to NYC so any tips are appreciated.

You'll definitely want to check out Other Half Brewing in Brooklyn. That should be your priority.

There are tons of good bars in Manhattan: Blind Tiger, Pony Bar, The Jeffrey, Ginger Man, Rattle n Hum, Proletariat, Barcade

In Brooklyn check out: Torst, Mugs, Dirk the Norseman, Spuyten Duyvil, Brouwerij Lane, Mission Dolores, Threes Brewing, Brooklyn Brewery.

In Queens check out: Alewife, Transmitter Brewing, SingleCut Brewing, Finback, Rockaway Brewing

Right near your hotel is Hell's Kitchen Brewtique bottle shop.

As @Kanger mentioned--make sure you check out Pony Bar, awesome tap list and great vibe. Nice and easy walk for you, too

Get to The Jeffrey man. Great food and an awesome rotating draft list.

Beer Culture is also only a short walk away as far as bars go. You could bring bottles back north as well.

Right next to the Pony is their new craft beer and pizza place Kiabacca. They have a great exclusive Centennial IPA from Barrier.

You'll want to avoid Hell's Kitchen Brewtique. I stop in for shits and giggles on occasion to see what they're charging and saw today that they have KBS singles on the shelf...for 30.00 each. Thirty. Dollars.

Lulz. BCBS and BCBW for 10-12 each, I believe.

I'll second what others said. Gingerman. Beer Culture. Awesome bars! Beer Culture has plenty to take back to your room.

If you can get to Other Half, do it!
